Women Glasses Frames

I'm 24, petite (5'2), and was just prescribed glasses. I was shopping at Nationwide Vision and noticed that the majority of the women's frames looked huge on my face; the saleswoman agreed. She brought over some other frames that fit nicely, but they were kids'. (Bratz to be specific. I teach fourth grade. You can see my turmoil here.) She told me that there really isn't any kind of brand that manufactures frames specifically for petite women, and truly as long as there is no imprinting of cartoons, I can do the kids' frames. I would just like something a little more sophisticated. If anyone has any suggestions or can recommend the brand of their own frames, that would be wonderful. Thank you!

I also have a "petite" face. The key things you want to look for are the measurements on the inside of the frame arm. For example, my frames are 48-14-135, which means that the with of the lens is 48mm, the space between the bridge is 14mm and the arm length is 135mm.

While the entire of width of the frame isn't printed on the frame, many online retailers will provide this information. My frames are approximately 133mm. They are a rectangular cats-eye shape. I have another pair that are 130mm that also fit very well.

For a petite face, you'll want to look for lens widths of about 46mm to 48mm. The bridge width is also important, because most small faces have small bridges. Look for 13 to 15mm to get a comfortable fit, especially if your PD (pupillary distance) is small (mine is 58.5mm) then your bridge may be small too. For frames with nose pads, go a point or two larger as the pads are adjustable for fit.

Some of the brands that have a good range of petite sizes are Kate Spade, Prada, Anne Klein, Lafont and Nine West. Here are some cute styles for small faces: I own the second one.

if i bought those glasses i'd be getting contacts or new actually nice glasses a.s.a.p. then again i didn't ever like sarah palin.

I wonder why men like my glasses so much, particularly older men.

Just about every guy I know has some sort of "librarian" fantasy - ie the good girl gone bad who whips her glasses off and the stick holding her hair back and VOILA! Instant beauty queen who just so happens to be smart, too. The glasses imply a certain level of intelligence, in the fantasy realm.

Now, before all your men get cranky, please let me go on: this is not to say that the men who are complimenting you on your specs have some elaborate fantasy playing out in their head as they speak to you. It's just clearly something that is very common in male fantasies.

Just look at the classic rock song, "Hot For Teacher". Every boy had a crush on a female teacher or librarian. Just like pretty much every girl had a crush on a male teacher. And if kids know early enough that they're gay, then I'm sure you can mix those two statements up however you choose. LOL

I guess my point is don't knock it...

Humans are naturally attracted to symmetry. Adding rectangular glasses automatically adds more symmetry to your face, even if your eyes/nose etc. are a little off kilter because it draws the eyes into the symmetry of the shape.

i was looking at some different frames and i cant remember what the brand of them and i cant even remember what site i was on, i wasn't at home when i was looking at them so i cant check my history, it was mainly for women's glasses and the site was a lime-ish green with flowers and stuff and was run by flash or something, if anyone knows of a website like this your help is much appreciated!!
