Sunglasses Frames

I saw these D&G sunglasses I wanted to get (if i can save up enough money for it). I really need a new pair of sunglasses, because my eyes are sensitive to sunlight and it will be difficult when I start driving, especially during sunset.

But my eyes are super sensitive and I can't wear contacts, so I always need frames. Is it possible to get my exact eye prescription in shade lenses for a brand name sunglasses frame that already has lense in it? Or do I just tell them I like this certain frame and I need UV protection lens for it.

There are many different things that come into play. First do you have a high minus or high plus RX? Does the frame have a lot of curve to it? My suggestion is to take the frame to an optical center with your RX and see if they can do it. Or if they have an alternative lab that could help. Good Luck.

my doctor told me the name of them, but i forgot. I know it started with optic... but then i can't remember the rest of the word. what i would like to do is buy the sunglass frames from someplace else so i can get my prescription filled. I just can't remember whats the name of the frames that are used for prescription sunglasses. thanks.

If you are purchasing them from some place OTHER than a doctor's office or other retail optical, you want to find frames that are ophthalmic quality. Some of them will say "Rx'able" on the tag or on the demo lenses.

I'm getting these way cool ray ban sunglasses, and I adore the frames.
All I need is to remove the sunglasses lense, and replace it with my prescription lenses.

Is that possible, or is taking out the sunglass lense impossible for Ray Bans?

Yes it can be done - Ray Ban lenses are secured in the frame just the same as regular lenses.

Take them in and ask them - all lenses have to be cut to the shape of the frame anyway so it doesn't make any difference to the job.

As long as the frame is in good condition it should work - they may make you sign a disclaimer as it is used and they do sometimes break in the glazing process.

can you take a pair of sunglasses to the eye doctor, and have them replace the sunglasses lenses with regular clear prescription lenses, so that you would be using the frames from the sunglasses for your regular glasses?

OMG lol i have that same exact question i guess it would be smart to go to your eye doctor and ask, i mean it seems possible.
