Sunglasses For Dogs

I saw a dog who was wearing a pair -- walking with and his owner over the weekend.

I couldn't help it, I just shook my head.

THERE's about 30 bucks that could have gone to feed the poor, or been donated to a shelter to have a feral cat spayed, or any other endless number of rational expenditures to help an animal somewhere.

To "Me, Too" - Very well said! I think it is DISGUSTING to see people spend obscene amounts of money in clothes and (LOVE YOUR TERM) "geegaws."

It's embarrassing to the whole animal kingdom.

I do put a sweater on my dog in the very cold winter when I take him outside for his evening walk to relieve himself. He has very short hair, and that's just good common sense. It's FUNCTIONAL and for the health of the animal, it's not froo froo and it's not "designer wear."

There are literally millions of starving animals in this country, who need to be fed and spayed and neutered and cared for in shelters - many, many, many places to send your money if you have the kind of dough to THROW AWAY on stupid ego purchases. And that's all it is - just like the soccor moms who are living through their children.

I believe that sunglasses, unless the dog has a medical condition and eye protection is advised by a vet, could be damaging to a dog's sight. I would not allow my dog to wear sunglasses, at least for any length of time.

Dogs are not dolls. Even the tiny, precious little dogs still have wolves as their ancestors. They need food, shelter, exercise and the various medications given yearly by a vet to ward off diseases and vermin. What they don't need are owners who treat them like humans, giving them human food, human clothes and cute little human geegaws.

Treat them like dogs. Give them a job to do. They are capable of magnificent service to you. They are loyal, hard-working and anxious to please. They would die to save you from harm. Teach them well. Treat them kindly. But allow them to be the marvelous creatures they are.

The next time you feel like buying your dog sunglasses or a pipe for his mouth or a cute little hat, donate the money to Paws with a Cause, Leader Dogs for the Blind or some other organization training dogs to do what they do best.

I was chilling at the park(No I am not smoking weed in the bleachers)and I saw this cute chick, a perfect 10 BTW, and she was walking her toy dog and it is filled with ribbons and even have sunglasses!!! Do dogs really like dressing up and stuff I mean my cousin just bought a shirt for her chihuahua and it really looks it can't protest any longer, Could someone please tell me if the dogs really "Like" it? and BTW I got her number, lol!!! :D

first of all your grammer isnt very good! the question would be do dogs really like ornaments! or does a dog like ornaments!!! just thought id say that!!!! anyways some dogs do liek to get dressed up! our beagle loves to put his sweater on in the winter time! i mean he goes nuts when we take it out! he doest circles and jumps up and down and half the time he doenst want to take it off!! other dogs will let you knwo if they dont...our other beagle hates it! she pulls everything off that we put on her! and some dogs probably jsut could care less! heres my question for you...what the heck is BTW?? is this how you rate a girl? because its kind of degrading!

When we try to look directly into the sun(no sunglasses or anything) it hurts our eyes. I was wondering if that is the same for other animals. Does it hurt their eyes? Should we give our cats and dogs sunglasses to wear?

Only certain animals like eagles can look directly into the sun. others like farm animals can be seriously effected by looking at the sun
