I am going Skiing for the 1st time please could anyone reccommend any descent ones please? And what designer makes are the best
With the goggles do the coloured lenses make your vision coloured? Not sure i fancy that and why? Is it just for fashion?
Chances are, you will want goggles, not sunglasses.
Seriously.
Goggles keep out the wind and snow. Glasses don't.
But if you do go with sunglasses, get ones with polarized lenses.
EDIT:
About the goggles with colored lenses.
Yes, it does change colors somewhat. But, for a reason. Snow is very bright, reflecting light like crazy. Without a tint, that bright light goes right into your eyes. Ouch!!
The tint acts as a filter, reducing eye strain. Different color tints normally are designed for specific light conditions. Usually, a yellow or red work just fine.

ski goggles because they are multi purpose. you can use goggles at night if its snowing, as sunglasses, and to protect your face. sunglasses are only for sunny days, and not at night. and now there is new technology that wont cause goggles to fog up and be cooler. ski goggles are the way to go.

Don't have any experience in this area. I have 140 paypal bucks just sitting around and I'm going skiing next Saturday...btw...I have a big head
I know your problem. I have always gone with the Smith goggle. They are comfortable and I like the ones with the built in Fan for deep stuff.
Sunglasses are a whole different matter. I have ended up going with the RayBan in the Aviatior Model. They have the largest lense available and I my large noggin they almost look normal. The other thing about the Rayban is you can order them really dark and with all the UV protection that you need.
Good Luck and make some turns for me!
Quality Lenses that are thin and light
Flexible Polycarbonate Sports Frame
Virtually Unbreakable and highly impact resistant lenses
Are they really necessary? What do they offer that a good pair of Sporty Sunglasses can't offer? Do most people use goggles for night skiing as well?
All answers here are good......in addition, if it's snowing hard some resorts will not let you up the advanced lifts without having goggles (sunglasses won't do). I've had that happen.
Do most designer sunglasses do this? maybe my skins just sensitive, but I thought with the money I spent the glassses wouldent leave markings :(
at the store I pressed them agients my nose for 60 seconds and there was nothing. then when I decided to ware them out I dident notice I had marks! lol very embarrasseing! I'm just thinking the more u pay the better you get. what you guys think?
It could just be the fittings on the nose piece are irritating your skin. I have a pair of $300 Versace sunglasses that do the same thing. You'd have to wear something for longer than 60 seconds for them to leave a lasting mark, though.

These are okay sunglasses with one major flaw: The lenses tend to reflect your eyeballs back at you in certain lighting conditions.
For looks they’re okay, wide enough to block light coming from the sides. The lenses are slightly too large from top to bottom (cheek to brow) toward the center by the nosepiece though, making them look a little too large for my face.
The frames are light and sturdy, and they don’t strike me as a pair of sunglasses that I should expect to break easily, which is their strongest point.
The price seems about right, coming right in line with what you’d expect to pay for glasses of equal quality off the rack at any major retail outlet. Don’t be misled by the crossed out higher price on this page though - they wouldn’t sell for that much if you could hold them and see them in person before buying.
They’re far from the worst sunglasses I ever put on, but they’re far from the best. The good news is that this vendor seems to be responsive enough to customer concerns, so I wouldn’t discourage you from giving the glasses a try if you like what you see here. Hope you find the review helpful in helping you decide.
