Which is more stylish for a teenage girl (16)?

sigh unless you get the snowboard specific glasses than chances are you'll end up getting watery eyes and complain about it than stop boarding because you decided to just go for style over what works. Honestly do what works and stop worrying about style it's just sad.

I'm looking for sun glasses that looked just like 1989 vuarnet's. I'm guessing they were made by a small french CO. The lens was amber, lighter accross the middle and darker top and bottom. the frames had a sandblasted or non painted look. I bought two pairs for $20.00 ea. in a french ski resort proshop back in 1989. I know this information is vague!
These were great sunglasses. I gave a pair to a friend and lost the other pair.

Thats old school, I had a pair, and loved them. Cant remember what happened to mine. I havent been able to find glasses like that for years.

and the cost that is listed includes the ski rental and getting there. I am told leather gloves are a must. The list of suggest things I hear she needs are wind pants, (under a snow suit) knee high socks and sun glasses. I know that she will need a hat that day. No, I've not forgot that her coat goes on the list. So what am I missing if anything, on the types of clothing she should be wearing?
We live in Michigan if that helps.

Why are leather gloves a must? Regular snow gloves work fine. If you have leather glove fine, but I wouldn't go spend money on it. Why wind pants under the snow pants? The snow pants will stop the wind, you are better off with an insulating layer under the snow pants like long johns then sweatpants. Yea hat and scarf, if you have ski goggles use them instead of sunglasses, they are warmer since they cover more of your face, they stay on better, and they are much safer. the goggles are meant to take an impact, falling like a 11 yr old would, I have a couple of friend who needed stitches on the bridge of their nose due to the nose pads of the sunglasses digging into their nose after a fall, and sunglasses can crack or shatter since they aren't designed for that type of impact. I dont want to scare you or anything but I have friends who had bad experiences with sunglasses.

I would also send him/her with extra socks, they will either have wet feet or cold feet. Have them change their socks at lunch time. Same with the gloves, inevitably they will become wet and cold.

I`m going skiing for the first time but I don`t know if most people wear goggles or sun-glasses. I`m not doing anything fancy, just basic skiing and falling over

You can probably get by with sunglasses, but you really are better off with goggles for 3 reasons

1. Goggles have lenses that actually enhance your view of the snow surface, this can be very helpful if you end up in the shadows.

2. Goggles "wraparound" to protect your eyes from snow in the air, or snow pushed up by other skiers. You can get around this to some extent with wraparound sunglasses, but you won't get the seal you get with goggles.

3. Goggles stay on your head better than sunglasses, because of the tightness of the strap. You can get a strap for you sunglasses, but it probably won't be as sturdy as a goggles strap, and you could lose them when you fall.
