Do standard military issued glasses with polycarbonate lens meet ansi z87.1 safety standards or MIL-STD 662?

No. They would have to have the standards stamped inside of them and the lenses would have to have a little sand blasted Tatoo on them that identified the origin of their manufacture by the safety rules. You have miltary issue street dress normal glasses. They usually do not pass for industrial safety without the identification markings.

Can safety glasses be worn as sunglasses?

I know, it's a stupid question but I can hardly find any sunglasses with yellow see through lens. Is it okay to wear?

My new glasses are making me dizzy?

I've been wearing contact lens for almost 10 years now and I don't usually wear glasses. I wear my 7 (or 8) year old glasses only at home and then I finally decided to replace it with a new one. And then my new glasses are making me feel dizzy. I was wearing this new glasses only at home for about a week (it gave me some dizziness when I first started wearing as well but after a little bit it seemed to get better) and today, for the first time I wore it the entire day and it made me dizzy especially when I was driving...I don't think there's something wrong with the prescription itself because when I tried my "prescription safety glasses" for the first time today (I work in the lab) it was also doing the same thing making me dizzy? Is it because my eyes are only used to either contact lens or my old glasses? will it go away as time goes by? Thanks!

This happens to me everytime my glasses prescription changes! Don't worry, it will go away in a few days!

Contact Lens In Laboratory?

Hello I am a junior chemistry major (currently in Organic Chemistry II and Physical Chemistry II) and also have worked at an Analytical Chemistry Lab for 1 year. I also wear soft, hydrophilic contact lens that I put in cleaning solution every night and reuse for 2 weeks. I also always wear safety glasses when working in either school labs or work labs, so I am not worried about splashes into my eyes while wearing contacts so much. However, I am wondering the potential impact of various volatile substances absorbing into the contact lens and potentially being held against the eye for a prolonged period of time. I don't work with anything particularly volatile, and try to use hoods and keep my distance whenever possible. I am wondering how safe it is to wear lens in laboratory (with safety goggles). I would appreciate info from anyone who has had any negative effects, extensive chemistry knowledge or knowledge of eyes. Also are a different type safer (daily or hard) etc.

Thanks

I really cant help out to much but i am in a biology class and we are working with the cadavers right now and even though we have saftey googles on we are still told not to waer our contacts because there is a possibility of sticking to them

There are thousands of people who suffer from both nearsightedness and farsightedness; this is a very complicated problem and people who suffer from this eye problem have to face a lot of trouble. They have to use either eye glasses or contact lenses to deal with this problem. Using eye used to help people a lot previously, but it has been seen that people suffering from both myopia and presbyopia either used two glass specs or a single spec with two glasses in it. Using two eye glasses is often a big problem. People have to change the glass while reading and looking at something. Later, glass specs with two glasses were discovered, these spectacles helped people but they were too heavy. Two glasses were placed one on the other separated by a visible line. People got rid of all these problems when the bifocal contact lenses were discovered.

The bifocal and multifocal contact lenses have helped people, suffering from both myopia and presbyopia a lot. These contact lenses are designed in such a way that people do not have to apply any extra effort while looking or reading. The power of the lens is applied in a circular way, like the outermost circle for looking at distant objects and inner circle for reading or looking at closer objects. The discovery of bifocal contact lenses is a huge step in the medical field. Another great quality of bifocal contact lenses is the person’s look. Compare between the looks of two persons, one wearing a thick glassed bifocal eye glass and another wearing an invisible bifocal contact lens, you will understand. Recently, several companies have introduced colored bifocal lenses. These lenses have spread a lot in the market as they provide both protection and style.
