Glasses as in eyewear or glasses as in drinking glasses? If it's eyewear, don't touch the lenses and keep them in their cases. Everything should be ok then. With drinking glasses, just don't pile them up and keep them away from the edge. Wash them with Dawn and let them air dry.

As most of us know, whenever there is a mishap involving a snake and a human, the snake usually gets the blame for being the villain. As a rule, we all know that snakes should not be handled close to your face. Do you feel that inexperianced young kids just starting out in hobby should wear saftey glasses till they become better skilled at snake handling?... Do you think that any regular snake handling should envolve the use of protective eyewear either as a precaution or, just in special situations that would pertain to certain species of snakes?
i own two ball pythons, both are very docile snakes. and i've had them around young childern without a problem, and i've had them in and around crowds without a problem.
It truly depends on the snakes disposition, and if it is a poisonous snake. If you know the snake has a "bad disposition" then yes, take all the nesscary precautions, wear safety goggles and handle it with care. with poisonous snakes, only a trained professional should handle them.
As far as young childern and snakes? it would depend on both the child's age, and the breed of snake. you have to ask yourself, is he/she old enough to properly handle a snake? to care for it? With ball pythons, my daughter had her first snake at ten, and takes care of him on a daily basis, with me there guiding her if she had a question or concern. As it should be with any child and their first pet, wether it be a snake, dog, cat or any animal. they need to know how to care and handle the animal before taking on the responsibilty for one.
As to special situations, you need to know that the child, or even adult is alright with holding the snake in the first place. If they seem afraid to hold the snake, keep the snake about your neck or on your arm, and turn so the snakes head is away from them, and ask them if they'd like to gently touch the snake. i've done this many times and have had no problem with the method.
in short, with all animals it's always best to use common sense anytime young childern are involved.

I just went to a butchers shop (USA) and he was cutting some kind of meat behind the counter. He did not have gloves on. I asked him for a piece of steak behind the glass counter. He didnt wash his hands, he cut my steak and wrapped it up. When I was paying he still had blood on his hands and gave me the money back. This is a real question.
Should I throw it out????? The money thing, I know is not right, but the other questions, because it is a butcher shop, I dont know. Any opinions???
as long as it was red meat to red meat ...........you will be ok.
I also make sure you cook the meat to the proper temperature and nothing will matter because all the bacteria will be killed.
I would cook it to medium or above. The money thing concerns me if he handled your money that way.....did he touch other peoples money and just go back to working with the meat without washing. I wouldn't recommend using that butcher any more. But as long as you cook the meat to above 140 you will always be safe no matter what.

I need to cut up boxes for recycling. I bought a utility knife w/ 2 blades included, but I don't know how to get it started. There are no directions on it, just a piece of cardboard sticking up out of where the blade should be that tells you to wear safety glasses and be careful, (which I can't pull out). There's a little knob that slides up and down that I thought would slip the blade up, but nothing happens when I do that. There's a big screw in the handle, do I need to undo the screw? (I thought it may have been broke, so I went back to the store and looked at the others, and they're all the same way--there was no one in the Department to ask).
Take the screw out and the knife will separate into two halves.
Take one of the new blades, after removing the piece of cardboard, and put it on the slider so that the two cutouts on the top of the blade are lined up with the tabs on the slider.
Pay careful attention when you separate the two halves and put the knife back together the same way.. Replace the screw, and push down on the slider while pushing fore ward at thee same time. You should be ready to cut boxes. Keep in mind that paper dulls the blade fast .
when the blade is dull open the knife and turn the blade around th use the other side. One blade will give you two uses.
I hope this helps. If not go to your local Ace Hardware or Home Depot and ask someone there. They will be glad to show you.
Good Luck
Like on the edge of the platform, do you think they should put the glass walls/doors up?
Ventilation issues could be handled if they put the doors high enough to leave about 1-2 feet from the ceiling to the top of the door, so that the ventilation system wouldn't have to change.
I think they should, what about you?
Do you think they should wait for full automation of trains before they implement the doors?
Or do you think they should do what London did and just make it so the driver has to brake early and line up the front of the train with a mark on the wall so that the train doors line up with the platform doors? This scenario means they don't have to wait until 2012 or 2016 or whenever the full automation is implemented, to implement the safety doors. Then later when they do the automation, they could still line it up and I think it would still be ok.
Your thoughts? Thanks.
I like the idea but then I don't live in TO anymore but it would come out of my Ontario taxes to pay for it. I've been in cities overseas that have that system and I didn't feel that I had to stand next to the wall just in case somebody gave me a little shove by "accident". At the very least it should be installed at the Younge & Bloor station on both levels there is/was always a lot of people there.
