Eye Glasses Safety

We live and work at motel in utah, We are sometimes required to do painting, and scraping of paint off doorways to repaint, are they required by OSHA to have safety glasses and eye wash as we work around pool chemicals.

Be realistic. If you call OSHA to get your boss a fine, you may soon find yourself out of work and a place to live. Why not just ask your boss to buy the necessary materials? It will save him money to keep you from getting injured.

Take them into your eye doctor and have the optician adjust the frames so that they sit furthur away from your face. This adjustment can be done by moving the nosepads in most cases. If they are plastic frames and there are no nosepads, they can try to tilt the frame away from your face a little bit, but you are rather limited with adjustments that can be done on plastic frames.

is it possible to wear safety goggles on eyeglasses, no body can remove the regular eyeglasses and wear the safety goggles instead, or he or she will not be able to measure things right...






Can a person wearing eye glasses ignore wearing the safety goggles and just use the eye glasses as safety goggles???

Before switching to contacts, I wore eyeglasses. Regular eyeglasses cannot take the place of safety goggles, which cover the entire eye area. With eyeglasses, there are many spaces and open areas through which a chemical could seep, causing much injuries. I always wore my goggles over my eyeglasses. Despite looking even dorkier, I experienced no discomfort or problems. If your glasses bother you so much, switch to contacts. But, never forget to wear goggles!

To be honest it would drive me nuts if they polished my eye glasses only because I had it done before and it was a major distraction while I was driving. So let me know if, I don't want that done for safety reasons.

Are you referring to them polishing the edges of your lenses?

Sometimes they do this to remove the frosted appearance of the edges of the lenses in an attempt to make it so it is not so noticable that they are pretty thick. When the edges are polished, sometimes you will get weird reflections; if the lenses are left with the ground edges, at night, the ground edges tend pick up light and sort of glow which also can be pretty annoying also.

I think you can tell them not to do it, sometimes they push all kinds of coatings and other options because that's where a lot of their profit comes from.
