2 peice window legal on road -2009 model custom built truck(from MI)?

ok got another one for this project
I want to have a 2 peice window in the center with a 2 inch pipe that is cut in half "D" and then place a flange "HD" on it so i can have two peices of glass (removable)
H "flange"
lI "glass"
HD "flange 2inch cut n 1/2"
II "glass"
H "flange"
Anyway thats the idea
I need to know if it is legal at 2in or even legal to have on a on road vechical( i have contacted the stat-nothing) because the center pipe will also act as a additional support
It is really more about replacing half of the window insted of the whole thing/wind also the glass will be a flat peice of safety glass dot rated 3/8 thick
The overall idea is to have a fixed flange on the bottom and fllanges on both sides of each section and then have a one peice top that tightens the two sections down via bolts with rubber/gaskets acting as weatherstripping
this also makes a plexiglass (offroad) option a quick and easy switch.
Unbolt the top slide the glass up and out
put plex in
Thanks

my answer is try to check it out on auto repair shop they will explain it..

question, after you chop a top of a late model car let's say a pinto wagon how do you cut the glass to size.

I would like to custom my pinto wagon by droping it two inches both front and rear, and chop the top of it four inhes to give it that low down look. the problem is how do i cut the glass or reshape it . It's a 1979 so it has safety glass. And i here it will shatter if i try to cut it.

The side and back glasses are tempered glass. They cannot be cut. Your best bet is if the back and stationary side glasses are flat a glass shop can cut new ones from your pattern from laminated glass. The windshield can be cut by taping and sandblasting a thin line completely through the glass although the loss rate on this is high to moderate. As for the roll up side windows you will probably have to have new ones made (because of the thickness involved) and tempered by a glass manufacturer, again you will have to furnish a pattern.

Isn't this a great story?

.....Zola the Gorgon.....

In a far off sea, in a time I can’t remember, but it was certainly more than twenty years ago, lived a socially deprived mermaid of a tender age. As was the custom of the time and place, daughters born not into wedlock of the maternal mother, were subject to verbal, mental and physical abuse. Such was the case of this marginalised, socially deprived and age disadvantaged mermaid of the female gender who went by the given name of Zola the Gorgon.

Such was the disadvantages of this lonely mermaid that she was left to do the menial housework of the family and such was her lowly position in the family hierarchy that the only creatures that conversed with her were the kitchen vermin. At no time should the reader imagine that the kitchen vermin were anything other than squid and sea snakes. If this story had been about a modern time then the mermaid would have been put into care, for even the thickest of people would realise that to talk to a squid is one thing but to expect a reply is something else.

One day the wicked step mother (this is pre-proposing the idea that all stepmothers are wicked) was reading the court circular in the Ocean Times when she noticed that the number one son of King Neptune of the undersea realm was giving a swim ball and that the stepmother and daughters were invited. Full of glee at this request from the prince, (forgetting that he was a representative of the bourgeois society that made her a widow) went to tell her daughters of the invitation. Of course, Zola was not invited as she was base line proletariat and would not fit in with the general theme of things. It was the duty of young Zola as she was called, to produce the dresses for her siblings and stepmother. Being nimble of the digital extremities she soon had the dresses and accompanying undergarments finished. The other sisters tried on the dresses and Zola exclaimed, “Oh siblings of disadvantaged looks and facial disfigurement, the dresses suit you, they are gaudy and without taste.” As the other sisters were educationally disadvantaged they did not understand the jibe and said thank you for her kind words.

When the family departed for the swim ball Zola was left alone to weep but was consoled when a fairy godfish appeared and said “Zola you will go to the swim ball.” With a flick of her magic wand Zola was on her way to the swim ball complete with glass slipper on her tail. She wore the slipper even though she had been warned by the local Health and Safety Executive (glass slipper division) not to do so. She swam all night with dashing young mermen, not the prince, as he was also swimming with the dashing young mermen. At the stroke of high tide the spell was broken and Zola reverted back into being a common char maid. None of the young mermen noticed, as they were more interested in the prince. However, the most disappointing part of the ending is that Zola had to swim home as the glass submarine that is usually featured in this story had gone and it was a dickens of a long way back home.

Footnote (or fin note)

Zola was not injured in any way by the glass slipper or the glass submarine and the Health and Safety Committee thought it in bad taste to prosecute due to her long swim home.

With apologies to Cinderella

***I think it is great, as everything this friend of mine writes...very talented! As everyone who knows me well knows, I have a soft spot for gorgonas and mints, so I stole the first part of my new name from this, and the second part from C. DeCat's favourite candies...=)

I think he should publish his stories, what do you think?
I have their permission and shall personally beat the crap out of anyone who steals it...
No, LC...actually, soon as she saw them, she locked herself in a room and called the police!

Some slippers just fit the flippers...

How to win a court case that I WAS wearing my seat belt?

Background: 25 years old have never in my life had a ticket/warning. I am a insane penny pincher and make EVERYONE who is in my vehicle wear seat belts before I even start it. I was in my mothers vehicle, she asked me to help her move some furniture. She was pulled over for not working brake light, windows to dark shade. The officer says he's giving me and my mother a ticket for not wearing seat belts. I say "I WAS wearing my seat belt." He says "no you weren't" in a very mean aggressive tone.

Ok here is my defense.

1. Never had ticket/warning so far in my life.
2. My moms windows are ridiculously dark it's LITERALLY impossible to see inside her car, think extreme dark purple custom job on a BMW. Not to mention the seats are very low seated inside so you can barely even see my face from the windows.
3. I get made fun of for how adamant I am about wearing the safety belt that's how bad I am about wearing it. I'll bring character witnesses.
4. I have disability, military veteran, and have won awards in math and science fields.
5. The officer had glasses and HORRIBLE handwriting (poor eyesight).

Also am I aloud to get surveillance footage of the bank from which he "claimed" to see I was unbuckled from?

Will the courts provide me a free lawyer for this? If they won't am I aloud to hire a lawyer?

The fine is only $25 but I would still fight this if it was 25 cents.

Please any advice at all would be appreciated. Please no trolling comments such as "just pay the fine" or "why do you care so much."
It was NOT my vehicle! It was my mothers. I was a passenger.
Kerbert, I'm sorry it just depresses me because I wanted to go through life without ever getting a ticket. It upsets me this could happen just because I was a passenger in my moms car. She called me early this morning and asked if she could pick me up to help her move some furniture.
LOL Same way Andrew I never like correcting my grammar/spelling online either lol leave that for when you have to do it hehe ^_^. Anyways Thank you very much for advice especially the taking pictures one. I ought to show how freezing it was here to show the windows was up no matter what. Plus my moms windows are ILLEGALLY dark lol it's the SECOND time she's gotten a ticket for them she's rich and doesn't care. But my mom driving a illegal vehicle shouldn't make the cop automatically ticket me the passenger. Worse part is I never took it off. He said he saw it was not on me about 5 minutes before he gave my mom her ticket.

With your record this is fightable, when you arguee a ticket you will have a meeting with a magistrate who may dismiss it, I have had 2 BS tickets dismissed in this manner, if the cop could be wrong the will drop it, not worth thier time. If the wont drop it at this stage you move to court, first you will have another plea bargain chance, then the judge will hear your evidence if he deems it relevent. I would like to point out to you that it is a fine not a criminal charge so no they will not provide a lawyer, provided lawyers are for those facing criminal charges who need to be defended, you are not, however you can most definately hire one but you will pay more than $25.

My advice, fight it, if they drop it at stage 1 great, if not they might reduce it (belt tickets do not go against your driving record, it's like a perking ticket). At this point atleast you tried, again i have had charges dropped by presenting my side, and the magistrate says, "well 4 years with no speeding and 80,000 miles driven on your 4 year old car, i'm sure if you were a danger you'd have more tickets, lets forget this one." at that point personally i'd drop it, if you take it all the way however, the law states you have the right to face your accuser, which means you may question the officer or try to show why he was not able to write the ticket. (take a picture from his location and park your mothers car where it was claimed to be seen). If the officer does not show up, you win by default. Bring everything you can for evidence but don't rely heavily on one thing, the judge may deem it not relevent.

Hope this helps, and sorry for the spelling, I don't feel like editing this whole thing.
