Does anyone know wehre to find cool colored safety glasses?

I'm a Chemistry major, so I've decided I should get some saftey glasses that I really like. I want some with a lime green frame (or any other neat colors) and clear lenses... I HAVE SEARCHED EVERY SAFETY WEBSITE I KNOW... and I know they are out there because a girl in my lab has them - but she doesn't know what brand they are. Any help here???

Staying cool as an indoor construction worker?

My Boyfriend is a sheet metal worker. He works indoor in a metal wharehouse. Lately the temperature outside is in the high 90(F)'s. Inside the wharehouse it is 115(F) or hotter. He is required to wear long work pants, work boots, t-shirt, gloves, and safety glasses. He currently drinks LOTs of cold water. He is getting headach's and rash's from the heat. What can he do to stay cool? Help with the headach's, prevent the rash? Any suggestions would be helpful

Wetting a bandana and putting it around his neck or over his head will help. As long as the head and neck stay cool then the rest of the body tends to feel cooler. It's good that he's drinking lots of water...he will get dehydrated easily working in that environment which is what is probably contributing to the headaches. He could also get one of those water bottle fans and spray himself with it. There have been times when I had to dump an entire bottle of cold water over my head to keep from getting heat exhaustion. As far as the rashes go, it's hard to say how to prevent those. If he wears snug fitting clothes that rub against his skin while he's hot and sweaty it will cause the rash. I would suggest trying to wear loose clothing if at all possible.

Where can I find cool lab gear?

I am in need of a lab coat and safety glasses for my job as laboratory technition for a water testing lab. I could wear the lab coats that are there, but they have all seen better days and don't quite fit just right. Safety glasses are never around when you need then and are scratched. I am looking for something with lots of character.

isn't it better to wear SOME pair of sun glasses when ur out in the sun than NONE at all?

1.isn't it better to wear SOME pair of sun glasses when ur out in the sun than NONE at all. will ur eyes get worse if u wear one that isn't that good? that is I'd like to know whether ordinary sun glasses can help in any way or do they harm ur eyesight?
2. is it necessary to get a branded one or r there ordinary ones which r equally safe and useful?
3. what sun glasses(cooling glasses) are the best? for eg. UV protected etc..
4. If im going for any brands what r the best brands, not for style, just safety. preferably affordable.

They don't necesarily have to be name brand as long as they are uv protected so you don't hurt your skin or your eyes cause this sun can be very damaging to your eyes!!

I need some cool chemistry experiments?

My Mum's asked me to put on some stupid chemistry "show" to some relatives but I'm absolutely stuck for ideas. I have a chemistry set with test tubes 1.5cm wide of various solids. I have:
1) Copper (II) sulphate - CuSO4 (6cm)
2) Iron (II) sulphate - FeSO4.7H2O (3.5cm)
3) Tartaric acid - C4H6O6 (4cm)
4) Calcium hydroxide - Ca(OH)6 (8cm)
5) Sodium Carbonate - Na2CO3 (6cm)
6) Potassium Iodide - KI (1cm)
7) Potassium Hexaferrocyanide - K4Fe(Cn)6.3H20 (3.5cm)
8) Magnesium (looks a bit oxidised but should be OK) - Mg (two 10cm strips)
9) UI paper
10) Household stuff (e.g. vinegar, baking soda etc)
11) Spatula, measuring jug, rough food scales, syringe, pipette.
It needs to be spectacular but not dangerous. I have safety glasses and apron if necessary.
I realise this is a big ask but I would be really grateful for some cool experiments I could do with these chemicals. Thanks in advance!
Yeah, I already know about the Mg, I kinda meant more... complex ones. Thanks anyways.

You almost have the ingredients to make Prussian blue, which is a really neat demonstration. It's typically made by mixing Potassium ferricyanide and iron(II) together. Both are lightly colored, but when mixed, they turn a brilliant blue. You can also make it by mixing your potassium ferrocyanide together with iron(III) sulfate. Iron(III) sulfate can be made pretty easily by adding in some over the counter hydrogen peroxide (3% should do) to your iron(II) sulfate. It should turn a little yellow.

  • The Lasik Procedure | Lasik Vision

LASIK Surgery – Kleiman Evangelista TXLASIK combines the precision of the Excimer laser with the flap technique that characterizes ALK procedures. First, no removal of the corneal surface tissue is necessary and therefore, postoperative pain is substantially reduced compared to PRK. Second, postoperative visual acuity is restored within a few days rather than weeks. Finally, there is less corneal scarring in the long-term, less change due to healing (regression) and thus greater stability of the correction.

    LASIK To Treat You

To treat nearsightedness, the steep cornea is made flatter by removing tissue from the center of the cornea. This moves the point of focus from in front of the retina to directly on the retina.

To treat farsightedness, the flat cornea is made steeper by removing tissue outside the central optical zone of the cornea. This moves the point of focus from behind the retina to directly on the retina.

To treat astigmatism, the cornea is made more spherical – like a basketball instead of a football. This eliminates multiple focusing points within the eye and creates one point of focus on the retina. Astigmatism can be treated at the same time as nearsightedness and farsightedness.
