Safety Goggles for a job?

Im currently in an electrical techniques course in a college and have to wear protective eye protection. I currently have some safety glasses that are CSA approved and have side shields (which is the minimum requirements) but I would rather have some safety goggles that don't make me look like a dork but are also CSA approved. I do not wear glasses this is just purely to make me feel a little safer because goggles are snug and cannot fall off. If anyone has any idea on some goggles I can get it is much appreciated. I would also like to know why don't you ever see anyone wearing goggles?

well i guess its up to the users preference - meaning it depends on the user. and it depends on the situation.

GOGGLES usually used in a very extreme environment. for example AIR CREW in the aircraft carriers. MILITARY in the FIELD - they use this because unlike glasses, goggles protect their eyes is DUST, and other particles and it is SNUGGLY fit.

unlike with GLASSES - you can wear them in the field but it can't offer you a good protection. and if air crew use this maybe it will be blown off in the faces.

so its up to you if you want to use GOGGLES or GLASSES

Excluding reasons of safety/lawsuits, Should I go in sock feet while I'm at college? What will students think?

The floors are close to being immaculately clean at my college. There's hardly any reports of somebody stepping on broken glass or anything like that. Other students (mostly girls, but some guys) take off their shoes while in a certain area (like the library) & leave them off while studying, but that's just in particular seated areas. Flip-flops are cool (even for guys), but socks/bare feet is even better. Generally speaking, I'm not a geek, but I just have a little geek in me for going shoeless (in socks most of the time). Do you think students will tolerate/accept me for doing this? They already accept me for who I am (with shoes on). I don't mind being thought of as silly, but not in a mean derogatory way. If girls laugh and think it's silly, but kind of cute, I'm O.K. with that. I do have a foot fetish.

Trust me, the important and truly cool people would not mind. I was barefoot closee to 24/7 at my University. No one ever cared, in ANY building, except for the dorm cafeterias.
As for "safety/lawsuit issues"---these are silly
considerations. No court would award a barefooter damages because he/she committed contributory negligence. to dispell more myths,

Why can women get away with wearing just about nothing?

im building a bridge next to a college and today was very nice out....and all the girls came out of the woodwork to prance around in nothing. of course company policy we cannot look at them for longer than 3 seconds (dont ask me why it is 3)....so good thing for safety glasses.
thephantom.....ahhhh the typical construction stereotype that we are all beer drinkin fat f**kers. if you only knew.

3 seconds huh? I'd say you need at least 5 - even chefs get 5 seconds.

Do you happen to be a beer drinkin fat f**ker?
My only qualm with you is that you drink Budweiser.

looking for a college, sure about the career i want:?

I live in Westland, MI and I'm sort of leaning towards Ferris State because it's the only college I've seen that offers a class like this:

"Screen Process Printing:
Begins with a basic screen printing course and ends with the student having advanced knowledge and abilities in screen printing. Instruction goes from fabric stretching and screen preparation to image creation. Lab projects are: hand printing, semiautomatic, and fully automatic. Substrates range from posters, textiles, pressure sensitives to glass and plastic. Emphasis is placed on screen reclaiming and safety in the lab. Technical information on inks, fabrics, frames, squeeges, and stencils."

does anyone know about other colleges that have printing classes? and what degree should i look into if i want to make brochures/vinyl banners/customize instruments? Thanks!!

If you mean that you want to design brochures, banners, etc. you might want to look into Art Design as a major but if you really want to go into printing, the U.S. News Best Colleges lists ten that offer Printing Management Majors:

)Why must the glass stopper of a reagents bottle never be placed directly on the lab bench?
to keep the stopper from contaminating the bench
& to keep the bench from contaminating the reagent

2)How should a stopper be handled after it has been removed from a reagents bottle?
it should be held, until you can return it to the bottle

3)how should a solution or liquid be poured from one container to another?
it should be allowed to trickle down a stirring rod from the mouth of the bottle, into a funnel which is in the mouth of the next container

Ben Westlund: A big heart no longer beats in Oregon's Capitol By The Oregonian Editorial Board March 08, 2010, 3:47PM State Treasurer Ben Westlund, who died early Sunday of lung cancer, was a gregarious and compassionate leader who found joy in public service

When Ben Westlund began taking his first steps to make the awkward leap from bull semen salesman to Oregon legislator, he found himself on the receiving end of an endorsement interview with the legendary editor of The Bend Bulletin, Robert Chandler.

Westlund had barely settled into his chair before Chandler wanted to know whether he believed in equal rights for gays and lesbians. The editor expected a yes or no answer, and when the novice GOP candidate said something to the effect that he didn't believe in special rights, Chandler abruptly stood up and declared, "Then we're done here."

Chandler's editorial-page editor led the shaken candidate to the lobby. Westlund paused and looked back across the...
