My car window was broken, when the guy came out to fix it, there was glass left on the ground. I said won't cars get flats from that, and he said "Can't get a flat from that kind of glass, it just shatters even more" Sounds to me like he was just being too lazy to sweep the ground.
The tempered safety glass in windshields is designed to break up into small pieces with fewer sharp edges. Try picking some of it up -- do you see any long shards that could manage to puncture the thick rubber of your tire treads? Any that could cut you deeply?

My dog fell through window and because it was not safety glass she suffered exterme cuts. My landlord said i must pay to replace window even though it had the wrong glass in it. Had it been safety glass my dog would not have been hurt as badly.
I would say that you will probably have to pay for it. You could take it to court and let the judge decide, but you may have to find another apartment.

Ok, so I know I am...I'm the one who broke it. The thing is, it is a flowery pattern glass. I broke the small window pane, at the bottom. There is a larger one above it, still perfectly fine. By law I have to fit safety glass in, and it doesn't come in the old original pattern. The realestate said I'd have to pay to fit new glass for the unbroken top piece as well, so they both match.
Does that seem right?
Yes, you want the door to look decent.
You may be able to have a piece crafted, do not assume you need tempered glass, you usually do not on a framed door. If you are within 5 feet of stairs, yes, but otherwise check.

I ask this because over a year ago we was asked to wear safety glasses at work, which is a good thing for safety reasons but, i start work at 7.30am till 5.30pm with a half hour break in the morning and a 50min break at dinner, that's 8 and half hours working with theses plastic glasses on, my eyes have become sore, feel heavy and i get blurred vision went trying to focus on things,
not to my knowledge check with an optometrist
The cover is broken off, the glass is cracked, and a few pieces are missing. I can still use it, but I'm just not sure how the laws are and if it would pass or not.
