Army Bcg Glasses

So I ship for Army Basic on June 2nd, 2009 and my eyesight is terrible. It's not due to any health problem or anything. I just have plain bad eyesight lol. My eyes uncorrected are 20/200.

Can Army BCG glasses correct my eyesight to 20/20 for Basic Training? And will I be allowed to go to Airborne School if I wear BCG glasses there that correct my eyesight to 20/20?

if civilian glasses can correct that then yes BCGs can...those things are thick as fuck. yes u can go to airborne school. expect them to bash your nose pretty good each jump though.

Im going into BCT in June and i heard they have issued new glasses that are more normal looking than the glasses previously issued, is this true?

it depends on where you go for basic training. i have heard the same thing but.....unless you know someone that has just finished basic that had glasses and they tell you then...dont take anyones word for it. and even if you have birth control glasses..lol (ok..bcg-basic combat glasses..the other one is just a joke for the military) you only have to wear them while you are at basic training..then you can wear your regular ones unless you are at the range or something when you would need them.

Usually they issue the BCGs when you start basic/OSUT because they're useable in a Pro Mask, but afterwards you can get nicer glasses.

I'm wearing a set right now in fact...

I am leaving for the Army in 6 days and I wear contacts. I do not own a pair of eye glasses. I know I can't wear contacts at Basic. So how long after getting there will I be issued my BCG's (the military issued glasses)?

It happens pretty fast. No worries, you will get them in plenty of time for marksmanship training.

I will NOT join Military just for BCG. How insulting.

If I choose to join, it will be out of service for this country not because I want a pair of glasses. Im just curious to know if they do sell because I know BDUs and such are often sold.
If you have style and you can look like a nerd with those glasses. Girls will think you are not only smart but hot as well..

Why on earth would you possibly want those things. I've got 3 pairs in a box somewhere you can have. Or just ask any military person and I'm sure they'd gladly give you thier pair.
