Glasses And Fashion

There are lots of eye glasses sold without a prescription that people wear for fashion. Do you think it's a bad thing for someone to wear them for fashion?

I recently bought a pair of the fake glasses from a small fashion boutique.. and they are exactly what ive been looking for for my prescription glasses.. can i take them into my optometrist and add prescription to the lenses?

It would be quite pricey but plausible but not all frames can handle having lenses added to them. They might be too cheap and crack when adding lenses. I'd highly suggest buying them online http://optical4less.com they have very cheap prices and lots of styles to choose from.

i have a pair of a. j. morgan reading glasses, they are a bit magnified, is it ok to wear them occasionally just for fashion purposes? buying other glasses is out of the question, if not, where can i get them exchanged and glass lenses put in? how much would that cost? will wearing the reading glasses ruin my eyes if i only wear them occasionally?

I wouldn't recommend it, just because it would probably hurt your vision somewhat. If you go to an optometrist, they will probably be able to exchange the lenses. They have optical clinics at Walmart, Costco, etc. I would guess less than $30 for just clear glass lenses, since cheap prescriptions cost only around $70 and non-prescription glasses shouldn't be expensive. i just got glasses and i think they look good on me... of course i'll end up getting contacts.
but just wondering... do you think that if glasses look good on someone that they're making a fashion statement? or do you think that glasses are out and contacts are in?

Hmm.. glasses definitely make a statement. People generally stereotype glasses as "dorky" or "uncool". That is, if they look unfashionable, of course. If your glasses look cool on you, than they can show that you are not afraid to wear something that other people may find wierd. That makes you seem confident, and confidence is beautiful. I think that contact lenses are more "in" than glasses, though.
