Buying Spectacles/Eyewear in Houston USA? UK prescription?

Hi, I'm from the UK and I'm coming to Houston soon and have a prescription for new glasses. Can I use this in America and does anybody knows how long it takes to get the glasses once ordered? Will be coming for 12 days. Thanks


You shouldn't have any trouble getting the prescription filled UK prescriptions are written the same way as US prescriptions. Some places can do glasses in 1 hour.

How can I find psychographic clusters for eyewear users?

I need to 'name' eyewear user segments - i.e. those who wear contacts (daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, permanent, color) as well as those who wear spectacles - based on groups we have pre-defined. We need to make these groups easily understood by using fun and descriptive group names, because segment descriptions as they stand are too technical. Anybody know where I can get some good research on work that may already be done? Good search topics? Other lifestyle products that can provide me with inspiration?
Thanks for that article Platinum. Does anybody know where I can find more recent segmentation information, covering a range of customer segments? I've got our technical segmentation information but now need to creatively 'name' them.

Can you tell the difference between fake and authentic designer eyewear?

Recently i bought a Marc Jacobs spectacle frame online. It costs around 140 USD (it had 40% discount, as the merchant said).
The problem is the "Made in Italy" writing inside the temple part easily faded when i sweat. But the code name ( CE MJ 054 807 135) located at the same site hasn't . So does the "Marc Jacobs" writing (and hopefully will not fade away). Is this a sign of imitation designer piece?


it doesn`t matter. but it probubly faded becasue you sweat a lot. i have chanel sunglasses and they are real [bought them at a chanel store] and some of the writing inside is faded.

i have spectacles and i m going to go for river rafting so wat shud i wear for my eyes?

i m going for trekking to Himachal pradesh this summer(may).and we r going to go for river rafting in rishikesh river.pls suggests sum eyewear as i have specks.


I dont think you'll find anything better than your spectacles....
Dont go for lens. The water might wash them away damaging your eyes.
Try tieing a nod to your spectacles and put them on with the thread around your neck so that even if they fall out, you can put them back on again. ;)
