i normally wear glasses and i'm thinking about getting contacts for the 1st time when i go to see my opthamalogist (special eye doctor). what are the pros and cons of wearing contacts and what are some of the best brands/types?

I am an Optometrist and I fit many patients in contact lenses every day. Contacts would be an excellent option. Depending on your prescription ( the power in the lenses) There are many choices. 2 week disposable contact lenses are easy to handle and very comfortable. Your eye care specialist can give you better advice about which specific lenses are right for you.

I know that they are adidas brand & read on-line that they are the Evil Eye Pro model(s) but according to the adidas.com/eyewear site those are designed for biking. I guess you could still run in them but I would like to know if he has ever worn any other models?

don't focus to much about what famous people like him wear. do you think he got to where he is now by wearing a certain type of sunglasses? no people get to where they are in life with practice and focusing on how to improve themselves not finding a nice pair of sunglasses. sunglasses are bad for your eyes because they take away your resistance to bright light. after wearing sunglasses for a while you will notice that without them it will be hard to be outside during the day. its better to run without sunglasses because it will build your resistance to bright light and you will find that you wont need them on days when the sun is strong.

You will need to go to an optometrist and get a fitting and prescription, even if the prescription is 0. You need to call in advance and make sure they stock what you need. Most chain stores like Eyeglass World and even Wal-Mart vision centers carry some novelty contacts.
