Some individual models from one brand are always going to be "better" than some models from another, however, especially depending on what your priorities are.

All i do know is that it is an alloy that was made from 5 superheated metallic compounds, making it fuse together. Anybody know more about it?

A marketing gimmick. If C-5 was really wonderful and valuable, you would have a huge paper trail of research, white papers, study groups, doctorate thesis about C-5. The mere fact that googling "C-5 alloy" only returns ads for Oakley demonstrate that it is a marketing gimmick. Trust me: an eyewear company does not have the capability of doing any material research and much less finding anything worthwhile. All they want is an excuse for charging exorbitant prices for a 1$ metallic rim.

I am about to purchase my first set of snowboarding pants and jacket, and am debating between Oakley and Burton. I realize that Burton is the goto brand for snowboarding, but was also considering Oakley because I like the utilities their jackets have. Is Oakley respected in snowboarding apparel as it is in the eyewear industry?

Well in my opinion it really depends what are you buying, for instance Oakley makes superb lenses for any of their optic products. Which are also subjected to high quality and durability standards. In short Oakley makes good optics, other than that they have very good graphic design and artwork in my opinion but their apparel is overpriced. Mainly because most of their stuff is imported.

Now Burton, They are one of the oldest snowboarding companies in the world and currently one of the biggest. From experience their products are a gamble, 60/40, where 60% of their products is of bad quality of materials or workmanship and 40% will last you for a good number of seasons. My advise is to stick with companies that are specialized in a certain product, such as Oakley for optics, NeverSummer for boards and Special Blend or 686 for apparel. But if you must decide between Burton or Oakley for apparel, I would say go with Burton just make sure you don't pay their MSRP because that is still a rip off.

He used to wear Oakley's but I think now he wears Nike´s. I would like to know what's the model of them or what are best goggles or eyeglasses to wear while playing soccer. I need prescription eywear, cannot use contacts
