I need glasses and were not that rich... so um where can you buy cheap eyewear (About $100) in australia, like what shops...
i heard budgeteyewear sells $99 ones and it says include the lens aswell... does that mean you only pay $99?
help.
Well you could always order online. Try http://www.optical4less.com
These guys ship internationally and their prices are one of the lowest you'll ever find. And it's not about the price sometimes. I've been buying from many online eyeglasses store for a long time and I have to admit O4L is the best on my list. Great quality glasses for low prices.
They have prescription glasses as low as 15$ plus they have a lot of styles. Take a look around at their website and see if anything interests you.

If I need sunnies for triathlons, what brand should I look at? I want something with a good versatile lens, lightweight with some features a variable fit and good look. Where should I start? I don't care about the brand icon, just a good product.
A friend recommended adidas for their versatility, features and so forth... which is better? adidas or oakley? Has anyone tried both? I haven't seen much adidas in the stores here in Australia, so don't know how popular they are.
I need to wear prescription lenses, so I was looking at getting one of those adaptors that attach to my sunnies and I know adidas make those.
i would get oakleys
their products are very versatile and you can get different types of lenses and frames. for running i would get the titanium frames, which are very lightweight and near indestructable. they are also aerodynamic, and stylish too ; ).
good luck
I had an eye examinations done by an optometrist yesterday and both of my eyes were -0.25. I wanted to have a high-index eyeglass lens (not plastic or polycarbonate) because of its vision quality and decency.
I just want to read your reactions. Thanks folks!

NOTE: I have posted this question in this category for the reason that I have posted the same question in Optical and in Health section and no one answered. Maybe there's someone who knows a lot about eyeglasses here. Thanks.
I have very bad also. I used a newer lighter lens for my glasses. I believe that they are different materials available. I googled information about lenses. Lens options.
Thin lenses- Lenses do not have to be "coke bottle" thick anymore. Select a polycarbonate or hi-index lens to make a large prescription appear thinner.
Rolled and Polished lenses- This makes lenses appear thinner. The rim around the lens is altered so it does not look like a "coke bottle" lens.
Photograde lenses- More commonly known as transitions, these lenses change from translucent to darker tints to protect the eyes from ultraviolet light in different lighting environments. These are great for people who love being outside. The downside of this product is that the lenses will not change color when behind the wheel of a car. There is a tint on the windshield of all motor vehicles that prevents the lens from changing, even if the sunlight is near blinding.
Scratch Coating- Great for children and clumsy adults, this increases the life of the lens by making it scratch resistant. This coating is also built into progressive bifocals, so don't pay extra for this feature if you are getting that type of bifocal.
A/R Coating- Anti reflective coating that makes driving against the sun and headlights far more bearable. There is also a scratch coating built into the A/R coating, so make sure you are not charged for both features.
Polarized lenses- These are what prescription sunglasses should be made from. There is A/R and scratch coating built into the lenses, but color selection is limited.
Tinting- Lenses are able to be tinted any color in the spectrum and can be tinted multiple colors on an individual lens. The best color to tint a lens is a light yellow because it can reduce glare from headlights when driving at night.
My lenses cost around $200. That's just for the lenses. The entire cost of my eyeglasses were around $500. If this optometrist is not being helpful, then I would take the prescription to another optometrist. You can research prices online. This is where I found my current optometrist. She's really good. My husband last year went to a doctor who prescribed bi-focals for him. His glasses are basically glass. He is able to use the computer and read without his glasses. The doctor wanted him to pay nearly $1000 for basic glasses. I found out later that there were alot of complaints about this doctor ripping customers off. My suggestion is call around to other doctors in your area. Some areas will have a blind association. People with bad eyes qualify for this service. Maybe they can lead you to a good doctor and also give you suggestions for lenses.
I know the frustrations of bad eyes. I've had glasses since I was 5 years old. Good luck!
