How does gear and clothing issue work before you deploy?

As an Army Reservist, found out my unit will be deploying soon enough. My question is, do you get issued new gear before you go? I'm speaking of IBA's, ACH's, Camelbacks, eyewear, uniforms? And by new I mean brand-spanking new, not just new to my person. What other gear should I expect to receive? I ask this not because I don't have a clue what's going on in my unit, I ask because my superiors are way overwhelmed with all the other individuals that are deploying now.

Before you leave you will go to SRP (solider readiness something), where they will see what you have, and issue you what you need.
Depending on where you are going
t shirts
towels
BDUs
Ruck
Boots
Sleeping bag
camel back
Gortex

Al of your personal gear, every thing you need, but not weopens.

You'll also go through legal, make sure you have all your shots, get a physical, make a will, set up power of atterney, make sure your pay is going where you want it, and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember at this late hour.

I was National Guard in Pa, and we always went to Ft Indiantown Gap. You'll go somewhere, and you will be well take care of.

Good luck, come home

Airsoft: Spec-Ops Style?

What airsoft tactical gear would you recommend so I have the "Spec-Ops" Style apperance?
I would like to have all black gear:
I already have a question open for the vest
BDU pants
Helmet
Eyewear
Already have gloves
Footwear
And anything else

Just for the record, I am not new at the sport. I've been in it for almost three years. I'm simply having a hard time deciding upon what gear I should get after several months of searching and need some outside opinions.

  • Chums Orbiter Eyewear Retainer Review | Practical Travel Gear

The main excuse people give for not buying quality sunglasses is usually this: “I always lose them, so I’m afraid to spend a lot.”

Hey, I’ve said the same thing myself in the past. (Ditto for expensive leather gloves and fancy umbrellas.) There’s nothing worse than losing something nice, as opposed to something cheap and crappy you don’t care about.

There’s one way to better the odds of holding onto good sunglasses though, or your real glasses if that’s the case. You can use an eyewear retainer from Chums . You hook something onto the stems that allows the glasses to hang around your neck. So on or off your face, they’re still on your person.

“But those things are so dorky” or “Do I look like a surfer?” I can hear you saying. Well, there are probably a lot more of these eyewear retainer styles than you thought. The past few weeks I’ve been using a new $10 model from Chums, the ultra light Orbiter . You can barely see them in that photo at the top. That’s because they’re made of very thin coiled wire. They weigh in at less than a gram. A ! Little rubber nubs on the end stretch to go over the tips of any glasses stems. You forget they’re there until you need them and they’re inconspicuous.
