I am looking for safety eyewear that is comfortable, I am being told that I need both glasses and goggles. The job is related auto repair.

I know the perfect place for you to buy safety glasses WITH prescription.
http://www.optical4less.com/plastic-eyeg lasses/p133/ These are prescrition safety goggles with high safety standards and have an adjustable temples. Now if you want glasses and goggles you can get them here as well. I know O4L is the cheapest online shop out there. As a customer for a while now, and I have always been content with their support and effort. Try them and let me know how it went.

Good Yellow tool for sweating pipes. I keep my trigger on the bottle and do not remove it until it is empty, they can and do leak from time to time. Store away from heat. Use with caution, gloves and safety glasses are a good idea. I use mine often and never had any problems with it

Good Luck!

Do I NEED protective eyewear for my laser?

I ordered a laser pointer from dealextreme and the website says this:
Most of these and other made in China green lasers do not have IR filters and thus can be hazardous to eyes without proper protective eye wear. By all means if you are unsure of what this means get the 5mW version for your safety.
Do I need protective eyewear, or do they just suggest it or point it out so that you are aware and wont shine it in your eye?

to summarize, do i NEED eyewear, or is it just incase you point it in your eye - in other words Can i look at it on the wall, etc. safely?
Does it reflect back from the wall or other objects that could harm me?

It is YOUR eyes vs paying for glasses. I would buy that eye wear, better safe than sorry.

Are the ANSI Z87.1 and CSA Z94.3 certifications equal?

I need to know which is higher. These are certifications for safety eyewear (googles). I've looked and looked...

Well, sort of. One is american and the other I think is Canadian, but most safety eyewear I encounter is ok for both in an industrial setting, but not for sports. I think that the sports ratings actually are governed by the sports associations individually. You should find out what regs you need to follow and follow those for your specific use.
