Is it really prohibited to ship/buy an airsoft gun in Massachusetts?

I read on a website that sells airsoft guns "You must be 18 years old to purchase this product. The sale or shipment of this product to residents of California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Delaware, Illinois, Michigan, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Puerto Rico and Canada is prohibited. Check your local laws before ordering this product. We recommend the use of protective eyewear whenever using or near the use of this item. If this is true how could I obtain an airsoft gun?


Federal Law requires that only persons over the age of 18 can purchase and own an airsoft gun. Persons under the age of 18 can only own or use one with parental consent. You will have to check with your local law enforcement agencies for use restrictions in your area.

The walmart, D ick's sporting goods, Gander Mtn, etc. by my parent's house in Illinois all sell air guns and even real guns. So like the other answerer said that must just be some internet sales policy. Go check out your local stores.

Airsoft shipping to MA?

I was on Dicks Sporting Goods.com and it said this on the Airsoft gun listings
"You must be 18 years old to purchase this product. I went on to other airsoft sites and they didnt say this.


I also live in MA and have ordered many airsoft guns online. I've never had a problem ordering online. If you're worried about it, you could get your parents to order it and you give them the money, but you don't really need to. You could order an airsoft gun from another website that doesn't say that to be extra careful. But again, I've ordered many airsoft guns online when I was under 18 and always got them with no problems.

    The Thin Air sunglass/goggle hybrids from The North Face gave me a whiplash flashback to a date I only refer to now as "the incident." Like my date the Thin Airs are svelte, sexy and look good in red. Like my date the Thin Airs are expensive. And like my date the Thin Airs ultimately disappoint with substandard performance that falls far short of their come-hither promise.

    Handling the Thin Airs in the store they seem like the perfect hybrid eyewear: both lenses are set in a single easily interchangeable frame, a glacier shield pops into place for maximum goggle-like coverage, and there is a clever elastic band that clips behind your head built into the temples.

    In the field it's a different story. The clever elastic band stretches out and won't retract into the temples. Toting the extra lens assemblies takes a decent amount of space. And the coup de grace: the Thin Airs fog easily. All could be forgiven but the last, which is one of the most frustrating experiences one can have in the backcountry, second only to getting one's low-hanging fruit caught in a zipper. Buyer beware.
