Where Can I Buy a Eyewear Case(sunglass case)?in NYC?

I'm looking for a big eyewear case for my big sunglasses since I always drop my sunglass and glasses easily.

If you know any place that you can get eyewear cases cheaply, please write down the name of the place.Hopefully can get it in NYC.

Thank you in advance and happy summer! ;-))

Just stop into just about any place that sells glasses..they usually are not very expensive...Or you could even find a dollar store, I know the one hear sells them, and they are surprisingly good for being only a dollar.

Will they allow bags like these?

Typically they'll supply everything you're going to need for Basic at Basic, even underwear.

Not that I'd suggest you take them up on it.

Anything that they won't be supplying you with, you can usually pick up at the base's PX, which your DIs will take you to early on in your training.

When I went, I went out just before I shipped and bought up a bunch of plain white crew length socks (come up to just about your calf), underwear (non-restrictive, plain white) and a toothbrush in it's own little case. I brought along some pens, envelopes, legal pad and two books of stamps (didn't need the second book) and an activated pre-paid cell phone with 300 minutes loaded on to it (useful for transporting to or from Basic, and for any off base liberty you may be awarded during BMT) as I "suspended" my actual cell phone contract while I was going to be away, so I wouldn't be paying the bill for something I wouldn't be using.

And have you thought of that? You seem to have a bunch of stuff packed and ready to go, but do you have your finances in order? Cell phone bills, shares of utilities or rent? Storage bills? Anything of that nature, make sure you make arrangements prior to shipping or you'll have some upset people looking around for you when you get home in a few months.

Good luck.

What are some things I need to consider before deciding to wear eye contacts?

I already know I need to consider the financial aspects of it.

I been back to having glasses for a year. If I were to get contacts, my glasses would still be the main eyewear, but like to have contacts for when glasses are not practical and very special occasions.

In case anyone was wondering about my eyes, I have astigmatism and considered far-sighted, my right eye is slightly crossed, I managed to pass the driver vision test with no glasses. I don't see bluriness most the time, and when I do, is very slight amount of blur.

I pretty much get along without glasses, but want to wear them while my eyesight is not too bad off so it doesn't get worse.

Thanks for any input.

Acuve makes contacts designed for ppl w/astigmatism so that should not be a big problem. U should talk over the effects it could have on ur vision w/ur optometrist.

Pros:no glasses, looks better.

Cons:cost, more likely to get infected, routine cleaning, very easy to lose, slipping of contact.

the choice is urs, since u have used contacts before u know most of this already so gl.

Leaving for Jackson April 29th. Anything on the list i'll need or anything on the list i wont need? Also can I bring contacts if i wont wear them (want them for AIT), and will i be able to wear them in AIT (Ft. Sam Houston)? Do we need special running shoes? Is it true that they let you use cell phones at Jackson on personal time (heard from people who recently returned)? And I've had people tell me that everything i bring with me with be shipped out, but others said i'll be provided a locker and get everything back when i leave for AIT? Can i bring pictures of my family or will those be taken away? Any pointers, suggestions? I'm worried as hell....

i would suggest you bring everything on the list otherwise you might be screwed for a few days but theyre gonna go through your stuff in the reception battalion and take all the stuff that is not on the list. And you will get your cell back in AIT so dont even bring it, it will just get stolen. have someone bring it on family day and dont tell ANYONE you have it. good luck

  • Basic aspects of contact lenses

. In general, rigid gas permeable contacts require more time for adaption than soft ones. Most contacts in different materials need daily care, while daily disposable contact lenses and some extended wear contacts can be discarded on removal.

Contact lenses will never get lost behind the eye, though in some cases they may be dislodged from the proper position by rubbing from the wearer. Eye doctors can help in locating the lens and removing it. Before applying contacts to children, parents should consult an eye doctor because younger kids are not suitable for contacts.

Currently, contact lenses are available in various material types, replacement schedules and wear schedules. Generally, conventional soft contact lenses can last up to a year, while GP types last even longer. While frequent replacement lenses last several months, disposable ones last up to two weeks. In wear schedules, there are daily wear and extended wear for up to 30 days continuous wear.

Eliminating daily care, disposable contact lenses are favored by a large population. Many doctors also recommend these convenient lenses, because they avoid the built-up of protein and bacteria. The truth is that extended wear contact lenses are actually made of special materials. Since the eyes also need oxygen during sleep, extended wear contacts must allow more oxygen to reach the eyes.
