Corrective Eyewear

I am new to the world of corrective eyewear and I don't know what I should be expecting to pay for the appointment and a pair of glasses. I have seen an enormous range from America's Best to Len Crafters. I am looking for a ball park figure that reflects non specialty, non designer frames + lenses. Should I expect 50 dollars, 100 dollars, 200 dollars, 400 dollars?

My glasses that are non-specialty and non-designer frames and lenses cost about 80 dollars total... However, if you go to a glasses shop, it will probably cost more. I bought mine at the doctor's office.

I have heard from other people that they would cost around the 60-90 dollar range..sometimes less, sometimes more. It depends on what you like.

I've had chronic eye strain for the past few months and things are beginning to become occasionally blurry. Am I in of some corrective eyewear?

You'll want to find out when you are straining your eyes. Straining, squinting, diffusing, etc. are all incorrect vision habits that we choose to do which harm our vision and give us blurr. We usually learn these incorrect vision habits during times of stress, and we can pick them up from others who wear glasses. If you feel your eyes getting strained you are using your eyes incorrectly, trying to see in an incorrect way. For example you could be staring and diffusing at a whole computer screen or the whole page of a book, trying to see it all perfectly distinct at the same time.

You'll want to blink easily every two to three seconds, blinking break up the stare. Look for the correct vision habits to relearn and reintegrate into your vision system. Learn about the incorrect vision habits to recognise and avoid.

Blurr is a learned behavior. Glasses, contacts, and other artificial corrections do not address the real issue of blurr and make vision worse.

Obviously this is not in regard to someone who does not make the physical or mental qualification, i.e. pass the PFT. But is in regard to secondary variables.

For example: corrective eyewear, previous injury (surgery for example), medications taken, etc.

My son wears glasses so that won't stop you.

Basically you have to be able to maintain the vigorous training and sleep deprivation of the program to the end without whimping out.
