What is the best eyewear to use while on the computer, contacts or glasses?

I don't like to wear glasses but my contacts don't seem to be quite as clear.

I have the same problem - I hate wearing my glasses but my contacts seem to be somewhat blurry when I use the computer. I think it's because we don't tend to blink as often when we stare at the screen, so our contacts start to get dried out. Try using rewetting drops periodically while on the computer and see if it helps. I know they make your contacts hold moisture longer than your own tears do.

Can anyone recommend some good eyewear for heavy computer users needing protection from blue light exposure?

I have a pair of protective glasses from a company called "Computer Eyes". They help with the glare and eye strain, but it's not enough. I also use an anti-glare screen, but still more is needed.

I'm wondering if they make computer eye-wear that is tinted. I've searched internet, but have yet to find a company who makes these, if they exist.

Any recommendations?
The problem is eye strain. There is not a problem with sleeping nor is bipolar personality disorder a problem. It's just eye strain. Blue light is the light that comes from most computer screens and is strongest from laptops.

step away from the computer...go outside...blink...natural light is healthy for you...if you are in fromt of teh computer taht muhc u need to get a live

Computer Ey Strain - Is it a good idea to consider getting Glasses to protect from computer glare?

Do they even check for this sorta of thing at an O.D.? I have always had very good vision, never worn glasses or needed them - but since I now work very long hours and very long weeks I have noticed my eyes get tired, blurring and I get headaches much easier. I would consider talking to an optometrist if it seems like a good idea, but other than the eye strain my vision is fine. I would like to keep my good vision as long as I can, so is it a probable cause to get glasses for when I use the comptuer? Do they make such eyewear to "protect" your eyes?

They do make glasses designed specifically for working on the computer. Since you've made a change in how hard you're making your eyes work, go ahead and ask an optometrist about it. Getting your eyes checked while you're at it would be a good idea, too. Good luck!

Progressive Eyewear?

I need a reading glass when I'm at my computer or to read..Recently, ordered a progressive eyewear from an optical shop. Did some examinations and when my eyewear is ready for collection, I tried on and could not even see clearly when I do my reading. Complain to the optician and he insisted that I do not how to use it and make up lots of other excuses. Isn't Optician supposed to help the patient and not just doing sales..How should I deal with it..

You should walk in and demand a new pair that are suitable for your eyes. Chances are he's just trying to avoid doing any extra work.

Is Getting A Video Eyewear Worth it?

For thouse of you who dont know what it is its little lcd screens on glasses you can ues them for tv, games, and computer it looks like your watching a 80 inch tv. i can get a pair for $300 should I?

Only if you have $300 to toss away on what is really a toy. It will NOT give you the equivalent of a large screen HDTV (LCD or Plasma) picture, in 1080 or 720p.

  • Computer Spectacles Escape Distraught Owner! | VSP Blog

My morning ritual was interrupted in such a way that the remainder of my day will suffer.  I was thrilled to discover that all my meetings were canceled, which means that I can envelope myself in small project that must be completed in a couple of days.  Settling into my chair, I reached for my work glasses glazed with a pair of Near Variable Focus [NVF] lenses, but much to my horror, they were gone, as if they had sprouted wee little legs and scampered off to the place all lost eyewear longs to be.

I love these specs because they provide crisp, clear vision when I work on my computer and they let me position my head comfortably when doing so.  It’s not that I can’t see out of my progressives when working, it’s just that the NVF lenses are considerably more comfortable.  They’ll never replace my regular eyeglasses because the lenses lack any distance correction; they only correct near and intermediate vision.

I ran down to my car, certain that I would locate the battered black case containing a well-worn burgundy frame with slightly scratched lenses mounted in a chipped eyewire.  The temples are a little loose and the screws could use a good tightening.  Admittedly, I should have replaced them months ago and plan to soon.  If I don’t find them by the end of the day, I will call my optometrist and make an appointment post-haste.  Actually, I should probably call him even if I do find them because they are obviously in need of replacement.
