Trying to find some discontinued Ralph Lauren eyeglasses frames?

I bought a pair of Polo Ralph Lauren glasses about 8 years ago. They were green and black tortoisey colored. Alas, I lost them one day when I went under a low branch. We eventually found a body, but they were unsalvageable. I do have a number for them, RL 648. Web searches say they are discontinued, OF COURSE!! Any ideas where to find these again? It's becoming apparent that green is a very elusive color for eyeglasses frames. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

What brand EYEglasses cost more (in Europe):?

Persol, Rayban or Ralph Lauren Polo??

I'm not in Europe , but I would imagine it is the same as here.

All 3 of those lines have various prices, so some Persols are more than some Raybans, or Polo, but some Polo models are more than the Persol or Rayban , some Raybans are more than some of the other two...ect

In other words, each line has prices that range from expensive to ridiculous.

Im on the market for a new pair of eyeglasses and would like a few opinions. I recently broke my last pair, be accidently sitting on them and I wanna get another pair..I hade some polo all black frames which I got tons of compliments on, but im now leaning towards the Tom Ford 5116 http://www.eyegoodies.com/image_cache/17 398/3570_7962_285.jpg
or either the
Ray-ban 5181

Ray-ban 5121

I hate putting in contacts and wanna buy some soon..Im leaning towards the tom ford, because I like the look of them..Any suggenstions though?..Thanks in advance.....

I think either the Tom Ford 5116 or the Rayban 5121 would look nice, the dark, heavy, retro look is quite popular right now. I didn't like the Raybam 5181 at all.

Note that how the frames look on your face is what's important, not what they look like by themselves. Certain face shapes look better with certain frame shapes. Some of the on-line eyeglasses sites have a section that explains about this (some even have a way to down-load a picture of yourself and actually place different frames on it). It might be worthwhile to check this out before buying anything.

Eyeglass Frames Causing Side-View Distortion?

Hello.
For my recent prescription eyeglasses, I chose the Polo PH1016 frame seen here:

http://www.go-optic.com/dframes/images/P olo_PH1016_9001.jpg

I am experiencing annoying side-view distortion and minor blurring, especially while driving when the road curves. Is it possible the frames, which seem to have an uneven curve on the interior base (near the nose), could be the culprit? A friend of mine has similar frames, but when I tried them on there was none of the distortion I see when wearing mine.

I need a rectangular frame as that best compliments my face shape.

The Rx itself seems to be the correct strength as it improves my vision drastically.

Thank you.
I should add the Base Curve was adjusted and there was minor improvement. However, the distortion remains quite noticeable, especially when driving on bending roadways or turning my head to look sideways or back.

If you have significant prescription correction, consider going into an aspheric lens from a quality optician.
This should reduce or eliminate what you describe.
You do not mention if they are multifocal progressives. If so, then see about going into a free form progressive.

What to Look For When Choosing The Right Sunglasses

A pair of sunglasses is more than a mere protection for your eyes from the sun. It is a fashion statement.

When you sport that new pair of eyewear, it can change your entire appearance. You can go from drab to celeb, in a flash. Choose shades that match your personality and lifestyle. Better still you can go for more than one pair of fashion sunglasses and have different looks for different days.

The conservative types can go for shapes such as rectangles or ovals in either thin plastics or metals. Rimless Eyeglasses and three-piece mountings are also a good choice. Metallic frames come in various metals, like zly, titanium, flexon, etc. Select one that is light in weight and offers 100 % UV protection. Check out for the UV protection label. Go in for genuine brands like Ray-ban, Gio, Police, Christian Dior , Chanel the list is endless. And don’t think twice about splashing out anywhere from $ 200 – $1000 for the right pair of Designer Eyewear . Afterall you are protecting the most precious of gifts. Choose frames that go with the shape of your face and tone of your skin.
