I need new eyeglasses and I am tempted to get a more trendy frame style this time around, but always worry that it isn't really fitting to my face. What have been your experiences?

That was EXACTLY my situation a while back. I really really really liked the plastic rimmed rectangle ones, but I was afraid they would be non-trendy within a year or so. So what I did was I got dark brown metal frames (thin) that are a kind of rectangle shape, but a little bit slanted. The shape is updated but they aren't quite so ... blatant? is that the word? because I didn't get plastic frames.

I read that rectangle frams are better for people with rounded faces (like me) because they add some angles.

i'm gonna get a new pair of eyeglasses. what style of frame should i choose (color, shape, material, etc)? my face is kinda fat, more like an egg upside down, i'm a student majoring in business and i will soon graduate and work in the field of banking. thanks for helping.

I am happy with my current lense strength in my eyeglasses. I just want to get a different style frame. I would like give them my existing eyeglasses and i would pick out a new frame. I was able to do this in the past, and now i can't find a store that would do it.
An eye exam would just give me thicker lenses and my eyeballs
would become lazier over the years and the lenses would become thicker and thicker.

If your state licenses Opticians, (not to be confused with Optometrists or Ophthalmologists, which are doctors) one of them can simply read the prescription off your current lenses and make you a copy. You do not require a prescription to do this, and it is perfectly legal.

They are not allowed to change the prescription, only make an exact copy of power your lenses currently are. This is done with a machine called a refractometer. Not all states allow this, so simply go into a big chain store at the mall like Pearlevision or Lenscrafters, and they will be able to tell you if its possible.

I really like the new style of eyeglasses that don't have a frame - think Sarah Palin's glasses. Someone told me that they break really easily. Is that true?

yep, that's true. Those types are very fragile.
