Eyeglasses Screw

Hey , I (eyeglass chain) broke a screw in the frame of my eyeglasses which are too expensive to give up are any suggestion on how to remove a small screw from them . I would hate to have and give them up please help.

Usually when this happens, it's the bottom part of the screw is left in and there are only a couple possible ways to remove this partial screw. First see if there is any of the end tip extending out, and if so, use a flat tweezer to grip that little pint and turn anti-clockwise(to your left) and hopefully you can get it going to remove the entire partial screw. The other way is to use a dremel with a very thin drill bit and drill it out slowly;this is best done by an optical store, because the slightest miss could end the life of your frame. The optical store also may have a tool to punch it out, but this is not used on delicate frames.

If method 1 is successful, then you can use another screw to replace the one removed. The other two methods would require a screw with a lock-nut as a replacement.

The small screw on the left side of my eyeglasses always slacken over time no matter how many times I tighten it. Because of this I almost lost the left lens on two occasions.

I keep having to screw in the left side of my eyeglasses each time--or otherwise my lense will pop out.

Why does this keep happening every few weeks or so? What's the reasoning behind it? Are the glasses we wear naturally defective? Or does the vision gods have a vendetta against us near-sighted mortals?

Its possible that the housing for the screw is stripped so it doesn't hold the screw. Depending on where you got your glasses from, you may be able to get a replacement frame under warranty.

I'm looking for at least one, maybe up to 10 eyeglass screw bolts and nuts. I'm trying to replace one that was lost from a pair of sunglasses. It is extremely small. About 3/8 inch long and about 1/16 inch wide. It has a flat bolt head and I need a matching nut. The other screws have a nut and a hex cap. They appear to be a three piece assembly. Something close could be acceptable.

I know this won't generate much money for the seller because the glasses are only worth about $20. Thanks for any help.

I need to buy small glasses screws of various sizes. I'm trying to replace a broken arm on my favorite pair of glasses with a new one. I've gone to local opticians, but they haven't been able to help. Thanks!
I'm looking for a lot of screws, more than the 4 that come in the kits at drug stores.

u can try those eyeglass kits that have the little screw driver and the screws. i think bath and body works sells those
