I recently bought a used car that someone apparantly ran bad windshield wipers for a while. I put new ones on, but scratches are highly noticeable and on one side only. I noticed lens dr. scratch repair for eyeglasses, and just wondered if would work on automobile windshields. I called lens dr. customer service and inquired about situation, and they don't have any previous feedback or knowledge if it would work on auto windshields. I know there are a few other products specific for this type repair, but need high-speed grinder or drill which I don't have. I would greatly appreciate any feedback on this matter.
the only thing that i know of for sure that works is take it to a glass shop, and have them buff the scratches out of it,they have a kit they use on them and it really works,it will remove the light scratches on it,deep ones it wont work on,but they usually charge around 35 bucks for this, and its well worth it for the time they spend on it,good luck with it.
Eyeglass Scratch Repair Remover
I only wear them for about an hour in the morning before I put my contacts in. Somehow the right side lense got a big scratch, right where I look out of it.
I've heard of some different ways to "fix it yourself". Or should I let my Optomatrist do it? I dont want to spend alot, because I almost never wear them.
if u wana easy and not too expensive u should buy this lense reapir kit. it has this solution and a swab and u can apply it with a q-tip thing and it repairs the scratch.
another way to do this is to get toothpaste and apply it to the lens and let it sit for 5 mins. then put it in running water and wipe it with a cloth. But i dont know if this 1 works
I have already read reviews on the Lens DR. and have heard that it doesn't work, so I was wondering if there is a way I could just do it myself.
Perhaps maybe a grease pen...do they work?
Sorry...there is no way...nothing that works.
Anything used as a filler would have to be the same material and optical clarity as the lens itself...so, that is impossible.
The only thing to do is have the lenses replaced.
My eyeglasses have a ton of very fine scratches on them, probably due to wiping them with my shirt. I've had these lenses over a year. Is there some compound that fills in the scratches?
There's no way of removing scratches in eyeglasses. Buffing or polishing them out would change your prescription.
This formula is suppose to follows the lens’ shape as it fills and seals each scratch, perfectly matching the shape of the lens surface for an invisible repair each and every time. They say it is a 100% guaranteed to never alter your lens prescription. The secret is in the liquid polymer that allows you to repair each scratch perfectly. I am just checking before I buy it. Thanks!
Yes I have. Don't waste your money. It not only doesn't work, it make everything Else blurry

How Do You Remove Scratches From Designer Glasses?
No matter how careful you are with your glasses, you are probably going to deal with a scratch or two over their lifetime. While some scratches may not bother you, as they are out of your line of sight, others create problems with your vision when they are directly where you need to look. If you are suffering from scratched lenses, you may be able to remove them with just items you have around your own home.
Plastic Versus Glass
One variable to consider when looking for a scratch repair option is whether your glasses are glass or plastic. Many of today’s lenses are made out of metal plastics, such as polycarbonate, in order to reduce the risk of breaking. These lenses also weigh far less than traditional glass lenses. Many of the scratch repair options work only on plastic lenses, so if you have glass ones you are going to struggle to repair the scratch.
For instance, many solutions you can buy to repair scratched glasses are polymer-based solutions. Polymers and plastics are both made from carbon, so when you bring them together they bond with one another, and this can effectively fill in a crack. These do not work well on glass at all. In fact, the only likely option you will find to repair a glass lens that has been scratched is to have it professionally restored, and the price of purchasing a new lens for your frames is typically more affordable.
