Eyeglasses Scratch Remover

Something like lens Dr? Did it work?
I searched the question on here. I read they work.......they don't work........use toothpaste........use pledge.......nothing works......
any personal experience would be helpful.

Those things like lens Dr. don't remove scratches. All they can do is fill in very fine hairline scratches until it gets washed off again.

They just make a blur on the lenses and don't really fix anything.

Once an optical lens is scratched, the only way to fix it is to replace the lens.

There is no other material that can replace the actual polymers used in the original fabrication of the lens.

If something worked, we would be using it in the business instead of having to replace so many lenses under warranty.

Eyeglass Scratch Repair

Are there any scratch fillers or removers specifically for eyeglasses? would a place like Lenscrafters sell it? Or can I use a scratch remover like I use for my car?

The good news is YES there are scratch fillers. The bad news is THEY DON'T WORK. Sorry but the only people that benefit from these products are the people that sell them. Then after you buy them and see they don't work you realize you could have used the money you spent on the scratch filler to help replace your lenses. The only way to remove scratches is by replacing the lenses. Sorry.

I recently bought a used car that someone apparantly ran bad windshield wipers for a while. I put new ones on, but scratches are highly noticeable and on one side only. I noticed lens dr. scratch repair for eyeglasses, and just wondered if would work on automobile windshields. I called lens dr. customer service and inquired about situation, and they don't have any previous feedback or knowledge if it would work on auto windshields. I know there are a few other products specific for this type repair, but need high-speed grinder or drill which I don't have. I would greatly appreciate any feedback on this matter.

the only thing that i know of for sure that works is take it to a glass shop,and have them buff the scratches out of it,they have a kit they use on them and it really works,it will remove the light scratches on it,deep ones it wont work on,but they usually charge around 35 bucks for this,and its well worth it for the time they spend on it,good luck with it.

Will LensDoctor leave eye glasses with a film or is it undetectable? Does it do the job of filling scratches, or does it ruin glasses? Does it work better on glass or plastic lenses?

I subscribe to Consumer Reports and they reported that this product actually made the scratches worse. They did not recommend the product.
