I wear non-prescription "cheaters" magnifying eyeglasses for reading only (the kind you buy at the drugstore). My problem is that I become disoriented when frequently switching (in a short time period) between tasks that require reading and those that do not. Will precscription glasses help this?

Maybe you are refering to plano lenses (lenses which have no power, just cosmetic). I don't know if they sell these in stores, you might have to go to an eyeglasses place and get them made (will cost almost as much as "real" glasses).
