Where Can I Donate Eyeglasses?

My dad died and left behind several pairs of readers plus some empty frames. Is there a place where I can donate them? The Lions Club used to have collection barrels in stores but I haven't seen one in years. My dad was always helping people, this would make him happy.

Lions Clubs still take eyeglasses. They have collection sites at Good Will Industries, Lens Crafters, and Lions Clubs dropboxes. If you can't find any of these in your area, glasses can also be mailed in either a padded envelope or box to the following address:

New Eyes for the Needy

P.O. Box 332
Short Hills, NJ 07078

the last 2 days Ibeen very dizzy 1 02 options it can be inner ear or 2 eyeglasses?

with different prescriptions i is a reader kind and 1 is prescribe by eye doctor how long will it last shouldn i go to the eye doctor or ear thanks
imeant to say 1 or 2 options

You are right to go over what is new in your life - because that's where the cause most likely lies.
It would be a good idea to have your ears checked as otitis media can definitely cause one to feel giddy.
If it isn't caused by your ears, then it could very well be the new glasses - both types.
Alternately, look at what else is new in your life - are you on a new script? [I was once on a prescribed antibiotic and THAT made me dizzy!]

Should I purchase prescriptive eyeglasses or just use over the counter eyeglasses?

I just went to the optometrist and I have a very small amount of hyperopia. In fact, one eye is .25 and the other is .75. I cannot even buy regular readers in town to match the worst eye. I went to the optometrist because I was having headaches and I thought it might be from all the reading I am doing. Is it silly to actually purchase prescription glasses for reading?
I am 21. My optometrist said that normally I can compensate for my hyperopia. On the other hand, the amount of studying I do is so much that I am straining my eyes a lot. My eyes are having to adjust so often that it seems like my headaches are from eye strain. The only reason I am asking is that my optometrist says that my eyes would do good to get the glasses, but when I went to get glasses, they laughed at me and said that I did not need glasses with such a low prescription. This is when I started to wonder who was correct.

No its actually wise to do so. They will be able to match your eyes with the lenses and you wont get headaches from your eyes trying to focus all the time.

Any b-day gifts suggestions for an 10 year old girl who's an intellectual? Shes my daughter.?

She's will be be turning 11 on 08-08. She's not into clothing lables however she loves jewelry.
She's a gamer and and avid reader. She loves going out to eat...just like me. She wears eyeglasses and loves to swim yet not very sportish. 10 points for the most unique gift.

Make it all about a theme. I've been all about the beach lately, so here's "beachy" ideas:

she likes jewelry--shell necklace
wears glasses--scuba mask
loves to swim--flippers

Then a trip to the beach or lake with a disposable underwater camera and a waterproof marine life guidebook.

Have fun and send pics!

Eye Glasses Question?

I just fell in love with a pair of frames, however, they're reader glasses. Is there anyway I can go to a place that sells eyeglasses and they can stick my perscription in the frames? Would they do that if it's not their frames?

Most opticals don't mind of you bring in a frame from somewhere else, so that wouldn't be an issue. Many premade readers will not hold prescription lenses. My suggestion would be to buy the readers and hold on to the receipt. Take them to your optical and ask if they can use the frame, if the answer is no, just return the readers. Good Luck

  • Buy Cheap

  • Titanium Eyeglasses

Oakley titanium frames are in my opinion, probably the best. they are lightweight, have the spring hinges, and fashionable. other than that, anything from marchon that is titanium is great too. if your looking for a rimless eyewear, silhouette is the best brand. not only does silhouette have a two year warranty on the frames, but it is also widely used in NASA. hope you find the right one for you =)

RAY BAN 8610 1020 DARK BROWN TITANIUM EYEGLASSES

By Amy Nutt When acquiring glasses or contacts, one must have an eye exam. Most people do not think about whether there is a difference between the two exams. There are actual distinct differences between an eye exam for eyeglasses and an eye exam for contact lenses. The following describes the differences with an eye exam for eyeglasses and an exam for contact lenses: Eye Exam for Eyeglasses The purpose of an eye exam is to diagnose problems with ones vision and any diseases of the eye.
