Eyeglasses Prescription

Im interested in buying a new pair of eyeglasses. I saw a pair of Chanel eyeglasses. Do you know where I can buy a pair either online or a doctor? Has anyone done this before or is this silly? Very interested in designer prescription eyeglasses just unaware where to look or to trust the websites.

You can get them on ebay and yes you can find real ones. they are sorta expensive though..

I buy all my designer glasses online and then take them to get the prescription put in..

I went to the optician's office today and she would not sell me the box of contacts because the prescription for my contacts was written on the back of my eyeglasses prescription. She said they had to be separate, even though it had a signature, base curve, and diameter measurement on it...Then I had my optician (of 18 years without any complaints about his prescriptions..) fax over a prescription, and the optician left.

It depends on the office. We get people all the time who change their own prescriptions because they don't want us to think their vision is bad, and people who change their expiration dates to pretend that the Rx is still current. We turn them away until we have a copy faxed directly from the doctor's office. If the place you went has this problem, the optician was within their right to ask you for another copy.

I am looking to buy some new prescription eyeglasses frames that have a soft and squishy temple sleeve or ear piece part. Most glasses have hard plastic or hard metal temple tips (end piece resting on the ear). Just wondering if there are any frames out there that have a soft temple end, maybe made of foam, squishy gel, etc. Would love to find some frames that are soft on my ears! P.S. I am not interested in drill mount rimless frames. Thanks.

If someone wears prescription eyeglasses, it is often because there is a valid medical reason (astigmatism, esotropia, etc.), purchasing a good sturdy frame, plus lenses can cost in upwards of $400 out of pocket. So why is the cost not covered by health insurance?

It is not covered by health insurances such as United Healthcare of Blue Cross Blue Shield because they are not a medical necessity the way cataract surgery or a pacemaker is.

You can get supplemental vision coverage through insurances like VSP or Eyemed which will pay a substantial portion of your eyeglasses. Most large employers have some vision coverage.

Maybe it's a silly question, but I've never had two pairs of updated prescription eyeglasses before. Is it okay to wear one pair on some occassions and another pair on other days? I have noticed that the glasses seem a little different from each other. I can see very well out of either pair, I just kind of feel like the lens shape and the focal points are slightly different. Will it mess up my eyes to go from one to another?

it's ok , but why don't you update the old one ?
