Eyeglasses anti glare film pealing/bubbling. What chemical can I use to get it off?

My expensive eyeglasses were made with the application of some antiglare film that is partially pealing off and bubbling. How can I remove all of it? TY!

you really cant. whatever chemical or abrasive you use to attempt, will likely damage the surface of the lens underneath. SOMEtime SOME opticals can send it off to be professionally removed, but even then they wont guarantee the condition of the lens when it returns. they'll even make you sign a waiver.

best bet is to replace the lens

A way to prevent anti-glare eyeglasses from smudging so much?

Hello all,

I recently purchased a pair of glasses that were (at the insistence of my eye doctor) coated in an anti-glare substance. I know that I need the anti-glare because of the amount of time I spend on a computer but they tend to smudge very easily. I notice myself cleaning them just about every ten minutes. It's driving me nuts.

Does anyone know of any way to make it so that they still have the anti-glare but are not smudging so often??

Thanks

Depending on where you purchased the glasses..I would check back with them and see if they offer the PLATINUM NO-GLARE...this No Glare has a Hydrophobic finish that reduces smudges. It also repels water..which makes them a lot more easier to clean. They also stay cleaner longer.

If they carry it, there may be a price difference. But if you purchased them in the last month or so, they should have some kind of exchange policy where you just pay the difference.

They only other thing I have noticed is cleaning with rubbing alcohol..the 70% strength. It tends to clean a little better than the eyeglass cleaner sold in Optical shops. Also always use 100% cotton cloth..never paper towels!

Are there eyeglasses that counteract glare from computer screens?

Are there any glasses available that offer this feature?
I want a pair of glasses to wear that will shield my eyes. I understand that glare ruins our rods and cones. I do not need corrective lenses, for I have good eyesight. Are there any glasses available like this?

.You can also ask your Optometrist about eyeglass lens tints and coatings that can reduce glare for eyeglasses that dont have corrective lenses

How can I take available light photos without glare on eyeglasses?

Photographers approach this subject many ways, they remove the lenses, lower the glasses so that it cuts through the eye even have the subject remove his or her glasses. However, this doesn't work at all.

Remember this when it comes to lighting: The angle of incident is equal to the angle of reflection. That simply means that the angle that light hits an object is equal to the angle that it leaves the object.

So, to remove glare from natural lighting: First, figure out what direction the lighting is coming from. The easiest oppertunity is to photograph with the light coming from the side or behind, however... if it's bright sunlight, shooting directly into the sun is quite tricky. Let's say the light source is behind you. The best possibility is to have the subject tilt their face slightly forward and possibly, just slightly tilt their glasses forward. This will cause the light to come off the source, hit their glasses and bounce towards the ground instead of back at the camera.

Same trick can be applied to side lighting. Lean their glasses and their face slightly foward to direct the light away from the camera lense and toward the ground.

Can you get prescription eyeglasses to help with glare?

Also, if you have any suggestions of name brands, please give them.

Depends on what is causing the glare. If glare from bright sunlight, get prescription sunglasses.

If glare is from cataracts, retinal disease, optic neuritis or corneal disease then you may need special tints. Consult your eye doctor.
