If you want to buy eyeglasses online then how do you measure frame size for eyeglasses?

Measure in inches or mm units.

It can be challenging to try to fit yourself with eyeglasses, but some online stores offer tips.
One site suggests that you select eyeglasses in a size that is close to your current glasses, or that you measure your head with a measuring tape or use your hat size as a reference.

The optical center of your eyeglass lenses is the part that gives you the truest vision, and it should be directly in front of your eyes.
To determine how to place the lenses in your frames so the optical center is customized for your eyes, the eyeglasses lab needs to know the distance between your pupils, or PD.

Eyeglasses Frame Size by FramesDirect.com CEO Dr. Dhavid Cooper

www.framesdirect.com - FramesDirect.com CEO and founder Dr. Dhavid Cooper givess a brief explanation of how to determine your eyeglasses frame size.

How can I be sure I'm getting the right eyeglass frame size if I order from the internet?

Can someone rec a good sight for frames too?

Learn your size. The most important is the nose/bridge size. I wear a 18mm-19mm most of the time.

However, this is not always ultra accurate. Certain styles, such as plastic frames, have a smaller bridge size, but still fit larger sizes well.

Frames that have adjustable nose pads (most metal frames) can be adjusted to fit much better.

Overall, know your bridge (nose) size, as well as temple length (the arms that extend back to your ears). I am a big guy and look for temples that are 135mm+. A more petite person might look for temples that were closer to 125mm.

Most glasses are pretty forgiving in terms of fit--particularly those with adjustable nose bridges. I have ordered off the internet, and with a few quick adjustments, have has very good fits for very little money...!

how do you properly read eyeglass frame size?

i have a a pair of Jeep glasses that i bought about 6 years ago for like 300 bucks. i am now looking for a new pair of frames online i read the size as this 42 ( theres a lil square shape) 23 '25'. i know what the first two numbers mean, but the '25' has me confused, i know my temple thing on another pair i have is 140, what does '25' mean?

Well, the first number is the milimeters of how wide your lense is in the horizontal measurement. The Square shape is just that it means "Box" or a 42 Box if we squared it up in a box. We sometimes call it a Box Size ( I am showing my age here....some newer opticians are gonna learn something here....) the number after the "Box is the Closest Distance between the lenses. We call it the DBL or the Distance between the lenses. That is simple enough. These are technical measurements and not really "sizing" measurements like you would buy clothes or jeans. a small lense sixe or a small dbl does not mean the frame is small. Sometime there can be a lot of frame there and the glasses can be pretty big. Sometimes there is little frame at all so they are actually smaller in fit. Does that make sense? The 145 is your temple length. Most read anywhere from 120-150 in mm in 5 mm incruments, from the start of the temple it's self to the end. Temples start in different places on a frame, so most of the time this is not a good measurement for fit either, as it is a technical measurement of the temple. The "25" might be a model number or a color number. Companies all have their own way of identifying color and models. Some do both or one or the other in numbers. Do I make any sense, or did I make it worse for you? I hope I helped!

How do you find the frame size and temple width on eyeglass frames?

Can you find this out on the frames themselves or do you have to measure?

This tells you everything about eyeglass sizing. Good luck.

How do you determine one's size and fit when ordering eyeglasses (frames) by mail ?

I love those round eye glasses that my grandfather used to wear.

Realistically it's probably not going to work out if you're picky. There's no 'right' size for all but there is a 'right' size for them to look how you want and there's no way to tell without trying them on. Some would say try it on in a store first but almost all the glasses sold online are closeouts & discontinued and not available at most stores. Frames are usually discontinued for a reason one of the most common being that they have a large number of them defective breaking for no reason. Also, they're usually the frames that don't look good on anyone that they couldn't sell. If it's a plastic frame it may also not rest on your nose possibly and could be very uncomfortable. I hate to break the news but try a store out, you may spend a little more but as long as you're not missing your rent because of it you'll be happier since you must wear them on your face all the time.

  • Eye Frame Size Information | Glassesmania

A frame has 4 basic sizes ( eye, bridge, temple, vertical ): Eye Size – is the horizontal width in millimeters of one of the frame’s lenses. Bridge Size – The distance in millimeters between the two lenses. It is measured between the two closest points of the two lenses. Temple Size – is measured along the length of the temple/arms of the frame, from one end to the other, including the bend. Vertical Size (B) – refers to the vertical height of an eyeglasses lens, and is measured from the tip to the bottom of the lens aperture of the frame. The B measurement is important when ordering bifocal or progressive lenses. Reading Your Frame Size
