I purchased a small strechable strap for my sunglasses in a local drug store (Right0Aid). It was adjustable and worked well. If this is too big, I would suggest borrowing a wide rubber band from work and making your own strap.

They're those half-wireless ones, with thin metal frames across the top and corners, and what looks like nylon fishing-line along the bottom of the lens. My toddler popped both lenses out and I know there HAS to be some trick to getting them back in! Can you give me the step-by-step?
Taking them to the optician is a gigantic hassle for me -- please don't bother to suggest that. I'd like to attempt it myself first, with your help =)
I would suggest next time you see your Optician, you ask them to show you how to do it.
You need a piece of small ( approx.) 4"long by 1" wide some what sturdy ribbon. (all rimless eye wear comes with some, to the optician)
Fit the lens in along the top of the frame. Slip the ribbon (centered) over the fish line and fold so you can hold both ends of ribbon at the same time. Starting at the (temporal) out side of the frame, slide the ribbon (toward the nose side) while fitting the fish line into the groove of the lens bottom. Once in all the way around, carefully slide the ribbon out.
tips. you can pinch (top/bottom) of lens b/t frame and fish line while starting to slide ribbon. then move fingers so you are pinching where fish line is already holding lens so it doesn't slip out.
do not fray ribbon b/t lens and fish line.
good luck

My son got his 1st pair of glasses the same day he turned 17 months, to help correct a strabismus. He was really upset the 1st day, but since then he has done great. My only problem is that the polycarbonate lenses already have some scratches-there are a few tiny ones near the tp of the frame-I figured maybe tehy got there the 1st day when he kept pulling them off. But, today I noticed a scratch on the inside and have no clue where it came from.
So, my questions are:
Are scracthes inevitable? I want him to get the full benefit of the lenses. And, I don;t want him to stop wearing the glasses for any amount of time because I wouldn't want to go through the trauma we had the first day. How do I deal with this? We clean them with an eyeglass cleaning kit, and he rarely pulls them off. I want to go ahead and get a backup pair in the meantime, just wondered if there was any advice?
Thanks!
Actually dad and I boht have glasses though I usually wear contacts.
He's done incredibly well and doesn;t seem to mind the glasses-I just don;t want him to go a while without wearing them if they where broken our scratched, because I figure he'd protest again when they were fixed/replaced.
I will call the optician Monday and ask about the gel and scracth resistant lenses. I can't believe they wouldn't offer those automatically with a kid this little!!!
Scratches are inevitable I'm afraid.
My daughter has to wear them to correct a lazy eye and she finds them to be a real pain in her butt. There's a gel you can get that removes the scratches : I can't remember the name of it tho.
Since he's young and probably won't understand the importance of them, you should do what I did : buy a pair of glasses for yourself ! There's one's you can get that won't alter your vision. I did it and it encouraged her to wear them too. Also, if you could get him a teddy or a doll with glasses and point out they BOTH (your son and the doll) have glasses ...
Good luck.

Great for costumes or parties!
My daughter needs glasses and I can't find them anywhere. I have been to too many eyeglass stores and no one seems to have children sized frames with cable temples, nor do they know where I can get them! Anyone know any information??
My baby wears glasses. You should be able to get the glasses were you got her eyes examined, and if not go to an ophthalmologist that specializes in baby and children. They will have all the sizes (they should anyway). Hope this helped.
