I am about to get an eye exam because i can't see too far away. i would like to know what shape glasses fit my face shape. i have a round face.
please provide links so i can see them. also what brand????
Glasses are personal so there is no exact shape that fits your face. When you go to the spec shop try on numerous frames. What looks best to you is what you should get.
Example is rectangular looks geeky for some but chic to another. Rimless looks robotic like to some while beautiful to another.
Try all types of frames on and once you picked them out then buy them. If you want to buy online then just go to a spec shop to try them on and find your style. After that go home and choose the ones you saw at the shop online.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

any tips? and what colors are in right now. I'm helping my friend pick out a pair today and she has a small round face with olive skin. any tips?!
Round faces:
Definitely do NOT wear round glasses, it will make it obvious that you have a 'round' face and just make it appear more rounder..
Oval, or rectangular (with black frames) are nice for round faces.
Colors: Well, what's 'in' is that people are wearing colorful glasses.
Like instead of a boring dark blue or black, they wear a nice shade of blue, or a cute green, or maybe even red!

i have been having problems looking for that perfect frame for me. i have a slightly square-ish round face; i'm light brown. and what's the best type for an active guy like me? i wanna project a successful aura but still youthful not boring. please help guys! thanks!!
Go with a rectangular shaped frame, avoid rounded frames (corners) and keep the frames light in structure. I have the same face shape and find the more invisible the frame the better. I have been very happy with the invisible line framed glasses with a rectangular shape. That is with no frame on the lower half of lens, just an invisible line supports lower lens. The only frame that shows is on the top part of lens and bows of course.

I need new eyeglasses and I am tempted to get a more trendy frame style this time around, but always worry that it isn't really fitting to my face. What have been your experiences?
That was EXACTLY my situation a while back. I really really really liked the plastic rimmed rectangle ones, but I was afraid they would be non-trendy within a year or so. So what I did was I got dark brown metal frames (thin) that are a kind of rectangle shape, but a little bit slanted. The shape is updated but they aren't quite so ... blatant? is that the word? because I didn't get plastic frames.
I read that rectangle frams are better for people with rounded faces (like me) because they add some angles.
I love my new glasses. Good luck with yours!!
I'm helping my best friend pick out glasses - she wants to get something trendy and she thinks she's got a cross between a round and heart-shaped face. Aren't there some websites out there where you can actually see a heart-shaped face, for example, and you can see what it looks like with the different glasses? Thanks!

Choosing the right glasses for my face shape, Whether you need ...
There are 6 main face shapes; oval, round, square, oblong, heart and diamond. Read below to distinguish your face shape and find out which glasses style is best for you.
Oval:High and sculpted cheekbones with a soft, curved jaw line that finishes in a delicate chin. If you have an oval face shape like Tina Fey, you are lucky enough to pull off most glasses styles. Try modern and geometric styles that complement your balanced proportions.
Round:This is when the forehead, cheeks and chin form a circle shape and obscure the cheekbones from vision. Round faces like Kelly Osbourne should opt for angular frames that make the face look thinner and longer. Coloured and thick frames will exaggerate small features and create an edgier look.
Square:Key features of this shape are the solid bone structure and square jaw line. Square shapes are also prone to wide foreheads and unnoticeable cheekbones. If you share this face shape with Nicky Hambleton-Jones, you should choose curved and narrow styles that lengthen your face. Oval and rounded frames will distract from the jaw line and minimise the appearance of angles.
