Eyeglasses Fast

I will be in Wichita Kansas this weekend. I already have my prescription for my glasses but I need new frames. I was wondering if anyone in or around that area could tell me of a place where I could take that prescription in and pick out new frames and have them ready before I left town. I do not know how long we will be in town, but I need them quickly if at all possible!

I need a suggestion of a place where I can get cheap glasses (around $100 with frames and lenses) that I'd be able to get preferably same day or within a few days. I'm getting an exam at America's Best, but they take 7-10 business days and I don't think I can go that long without sight (I have a job interview in a week). Lenscrafters was the only place I could find but they charge over $200, not counting the rush charge I'm assuming they have. So a place with an on-site lab and affordable frames. Or maybe a reputable online company (none of the web sites I looked at mentioned rush orders). Thank you for any suggestions.

The lenses are plastic. It's supposed to have a scratch resistent coating but they scratched so fast I'm beginning to wonder. They are covered by tiny, fine scratches. Does anybody know anything that will diminish them?

Since I used to work for an optical company (I won't mention the name, but the initials are LC) I know they put a premium on getting the glasses out in one hour or less. It takes longer to cut lenses to the prescription from blanks, so they use pre-made lenses whenever possible. One time I was going to cut some lenses that were designated "scratch-resistant" from blanks, and was told by my manager to use the pre-made - I said we were out of it in pre-made lenses - she said use the non-scratch-resistant ones and we'll "honor the warranty".

I was disgusted, because I know people generally will not bring them back, so they paid for scratch resistant lenses for nothing!

Take them back and demand new lenses because they scratched. Ask to see the package saying they used scratch resistant lenses.

Then, when you get them re-done, make sure you use a clean, soft cloth to clean the lenses (never tissues or paper towels) and whenever possible rinse the lenses before wiping to keep from getting new scratches.

Anyway, great choice in buying online. I've always tried to convert people to buy online. The site I buy from is http://www.optical4less.com been buying from them for over a year now. Their cheapest is 15$, although not the cheapest of all, there are many reasons to buy from O4L.

Over the years, I've been purchasing from a lot of different retailers. Until I found O4L, they were the fastest and most reliable. If you try and order from Zenni it takes MONTHS to get your glasses. Whereas O4L, I got them in 10 business days roughly and sometimes longer but not as long as Zenni. Also, O4L has provided me with the least problems. A lot of other retailers gave me a ton of problems. Wrong prescription, wrong glasses, bad customer service and on and on.
