this is the packing list they gave me :

IMPORTANT NOTE:
The residence halls are not air-conditioned.
We recommend that students bring a fan and
a water bottle should the weather become
extremely warm.
Students in science courses need to bring long pants and closed-toe shoes for the labs. Students who
wear contacts should also bring eyeglasses to wear in the labs.

That is a pretty exhaustive list. If you MUST wear makeup, bring that, but you really don't need a ton of stuff. Whatever you feel you CANNOT live without for a month, bring. Don't bring any knives (no pocket knife). If you want you could bring a little first aid kit-type thing. I use advil at least once a week, so I bring that with me.
