Is spectacles a common term for eyeglasses or glasses in the UK?

I am doing some market research and was wondering if spectacles is a commonly used term in the UK, or do people in the UK just call what Americans "eyeglasses"..."glasses"?

I don't ever hear the term 'eyeglasses', the most common is 'glasses' and occasionally you hear 'spectacles' (this term is used most with older people)

which are the best brands of spectacles (eyeglasses) available in India.?

please suggest me the best brands of spectacles in india. also they should be a little easy on my pocket and not burn a big hole in my pocket.
anything upto 3000-4000 is in my budget.


The brand of glasses you go for is not what is important. All that matters is whether they fit you well or not and whether your prescription can be glazed into them.

Is there any spectacles or eyeglasses brand as MIZUNO?



Yes. They are a Japanese based company I believe and they mostly specialize in sports equipment such as baseball gloves, bats etc. I'm sure that they probably make sunglasses, but I'm not sure about actual eyeglasses, but I wouldn't be surprised. From my personal experiences, their products are very durable and well-made. Hope this helps.

I don't see why not. Looks aren't every thing and I think talent and a great song could make up for the glasses.
