Eyeglass Frame

I am getting a new pair of eyeglass, and I was what kind of eyeglass frame would look good on me. I have straight black hair to my shoulder, brown eyes, small nose and mouth. And the shape of my face is between round and triangular. Please answer me if you've seen people or yourself has the similar feature as me and know what kind of eyeglass look good on them.

I just bought some new frames and the women at the eye doctor's were great. I have a round face and my old frames were round. They said it was a big no-no. Circles on a round face make you look rounder. They steered me to a nice pair of rectangular frames by D&G. They look great and I have had tons of compliments.

The threads for one of the screws for the lens frame on my eyeglasses is stripped. I was considering using a larger size tap, but I have no idea where I can purchase a tap this small. Can someone advise where I can purchase a SMALL tap or another way to repair the threads?
Footprintz, how much would the fee be to install a self tapping screw?

Why don't you just take it to an optical store. We deal with that every day.

If it is just the screw threads, then it just needs a new screw.

If it is the threads in the barrel, then we have self tapping screws in different sizes to fix that too.

It is a small job for an optician who does that all day, but may become a huge, and expensive job for you.

If you are stuck meanwhile, take a twist tie and remove the covering, then twist the wire through the hinge.

I doubt anyone would charge more than a couple of dollars, if at all.

I recently bought a pair of eyeglasses frame from India but I live in America.

If I take the frame to my eye doctor in America, would they put my prescription in the frame and would they work here?

right now, the glasses have no prescription. i just bought the frame itself.

I think there's no different on the eyeglass frame in India and America so they should work on it.

Hello all,
I've a Revlon metal frame in which the part of the temple that
attaches the hinge came off. None of the shops that we tried wanted to fix it.

What have other diy done when this happens?

For my next pair, do you have any suggestions on good
quality frames that won't break the bank?

Is flexon/titanium worth it? The low end costs nearly $200.

My right lens popped out of my eyeglass frame along with the screw (I was able to find the screw). Anyways i'm having a hard time trying to reinsert the lens. I can't seem to line up the lens correctly with the edges of the frame. the lens is thick, i guess cause i have Astigmastism.

There should be a ridge around the outside edge of the lens, this should fit the groove around the inside edge of the frame, the allignment is kind of tricky because the wire frame is kind of springy and typically keeps popping apart when trying to get the lens back in.

Maybe try putting something like a pin through the two screw holes so it sticks out about 1/2 inch on each side, then take a rubberband and wrap it several times around between the pin and frame to help hold the frame ends together but allow it to force open a little as you wedge the lens in place. Now slip the lens in and work your way around the edge and get the groove lined up all the way around. Once it is in correct position, the two metal things where the screw goes should be pretty close together. At this point, hold the frame securely around the lens, pull the pin out and remove the rubber band (if it doesn't fly off on its own) get the screw into the tiny hole and get it started before the whole mess comes apart again.

Note: it is possible that the screw thread is stripped and that is why it came out in the first place. If this is the case, sometimes you can make a temporary repair by running a piece of wire through the screw holes, bending it around and twisting to hold everything together, cut off the excess and carefully fold the twisted part over.
