Eyeglass Frame Displays

I would consider myself a very classy but "non-flashy" dresser and I almost always avoid any designer logos on my cloths. Most of the time I'm in business or business-casual attire. I really try to be a humble person and I hate to wear, drive, or display things that shout "look at me!" Well, I just bought new versace eyeglass frames because I love the way the fit my face but they have the word "versace" along each side. The lettering is pretty small and is no more than 3/4 of an inch long. Is something like this too flashy/trashy/tacky? I'm very tempted to cover up the lettering somehow but I'd love feedback on what people think before I deface these things. Can I maintain a humble and classy look with such a designer logo on my frames?

i think so bcuz its ur attitude, not the clothes. and u bought them for the shape/quality, not the label so it wont affect ur humbleness. dont worry about it. nobody will notice anyway.

I am curious about this invention about the high-tech memory glasses that helps improve the persons memory without doing anything. I wonder, how does it works in a person. I've read that the specs has a tiny tv screen or computer display cliped into glasses frame and hooked up to a PDA and this PDA is programmable. Each prompt is geared to jog the wearers memory. My question is how does it work to help jog one's memory (is there any chip planted in your body??) This memory eyeglasses also reminds a person of something they knew already. What is this Subliminal cueing (method of increasing your memory) all about??? I hope you'll be very helpful guys to share with me more about this invention especially its fundamentals, functions and uses. Thank you so much and God bless!!!

I'll accept the end blessing, but I think the device is still in it's infancy as regards the actual device and it's operation. While possible, as you have described it, the real world construction and application is a few years away, at least for public release. You might want to consider how you phrase a question since "does" in the header line is out of place.

i dont think such thing exists tehy may be a plan but i dont think it exists yet otherwise ever one wud have had one by know

My sister-in-law use to work for an eye doctor and she gave me a pair of floor model eyeglasses, she said I can take it to an optical store and they will put in the lenses that I need. I want to know if I go to a store will they know that the frames are a floor model? The frames don't have any lenses in them right now she took them out. I just want to make sure I don't want to look like a fool if I walk in to the store and they know that the frames are a floor model pair. Any impute would help..Thanks

Usually a floor model is hard to recognize, and otherwise: who cares! It is not that they are charging any additional costs for glazing a shop model.

If you want to save some money, you could also think about ordering the lenses online. I know that for example www.smartbuyglasses.com has a re-glaze service. I have order some prescription glasses in the past with them and I can really recommend them. Anyways, it never hurts to contact some online optical stores to see if they can be of any help.

And how much would they cost?
I need one lens +4.0 and another +4.5. I have prescription and everything, but I'm a student and can't afford designer glasses. So basically all I'm looking for is OK looking regular frames, nothing special. I'm 21 by the way.

Can I get them at CVS? I know they have reading glasses on display. Can I just pick any frames and ask them to put in lenses that i need? And again, how much would it cost?
I can't buy glasses online, I need to be able to try them on!!
LOL- I don't change stuff to my credit cards and make payments. That's the dumbest thing one can do - you end up paying more.
And thanks for the suggestions.. I still don't know where to go but I guess I will have to just spend a day checking out places and asking for prices

"America's Best" claims to have name brand frames with lenses starting at $50.

Some independent opticians may be willing to give you a very good deal on discontinued frames if you ask nicely.

Walmart will make new lenses for frames you supply for about $60. Maybe you have some old glasses, or can get some at a thrift store, or from a friend or family member.
