Eyeglass Chains

I am trying to make some cords / chains / necklaces that hold glasses. (you know, the chain that hangs around your neck that grips your glasses?) What are they called and where can I find them?

wear to work, then one day I heard the younger girls mentioning something about "those eyeglass chains old women wear" and became a little self conscious. I just never thought of them that way. By the way I'm sixty so maybe she was right.

I've been putting my glasses on a string/chain since I started wearing them about 20 years ago. Hon, if I didn't do that I'd have spent a fortune replacing lost glasses.

So, if that makes me old then I was old long before I knew it. Console yourself with the thought that your young co-workers will have glasses hanging around their necks in the not to distant future.

you don't need one, it's really easy!!!!!

measure the string how long you want it + 3 inches. then bead it &tie it or burn it to your glasses!

the extra lenght is to tie it

i need new eyeglasses...lens and frames
who--(walmart/costco) etc, provided the best deal quality and money.....not limited to those two..but chain operations i can find in the midwest.......thanks

It's hit or miss. I've worked at Lenscrafters, Pearle, and Eyemasters over the years. Honestly, it depends on the ethics of the people working there. If the doc is a good doc, and if the lab/store manager of the glasses part of the store is ethical. If either side of the store is more concerned with money over your prescription or eye health, it's not so good. But, I have to say, the Pearle I worked at was very good.

It just depends on the people working there. Do a little research and ask a few questions when you get there. If they know their stuff, they'll discuss options/treatments with you.
