The only way it could possibly work if they ordered in the exact same frame. Most places will not cut down the previous lenses for frames with a smaller eyesize but it is possible. The most likely solution would to be buy new lenses when getting another pair...... then you are left with a back up pair :)

Websites like framesdirect.com have better selection than my eyeglass center. I want to know if anyone has ever done this before. Thanks

Yes, unless you have an unusal prescription that requires extra thick lenses. Check with your optometrist first.

You can also find cool frames at other eyeglass places (Sam's Club, Target, Dr. Tavel...) where you can try them on first. Your optometrist may be willing to put lenses into the frames that you bought elsewhere or you might take your lense prescription to the place with the good frames.

I have had my eye exams at Sam's Club for the last few years, and I just take the prescription with me and order glasses when I find a frame that I like. Target was great about making them with the prescription from Sam's Club. I've also have prescription lenses put into an old pair of sunglasses that I loved.

I bought some new frames from a website and would like to fill in with prescription lenses from my local eye center. How much will they charge for the lenses if I have already have a prescription filed with them?

I have no idea the total price but I guess since you have already prescription filed on your eyeglasses, you take big charge on it. Watch this video you really enjoy it.

I just want a middle-of-the-line pair of glasses-sturdy enough to last me a few years, but nothing super fancy. How much would this cost at a normal eyeglasses center?

Probably around one or two or three hundred dollars. Leaning more on the two side without insurance.

I have Calvin Klein glasses, but usually wear contacts. I've had them for about three years, they're stylish but still have had them about three years (first pair of adult glasses).
