Where can I find a pair of "invisible" eyeglasses?

I'm looking for a pair of rimless eyeglasses which have a clear bridge and arms. So far the most transparent frames I've found are thin titanium. The whole idea is that when I have them on they will be practically invisible.
Also, I may consider the vintage style which has no arms and a spring bridge. Does anyone know where I could find JUST the spring bridges to purchase?
If not, does anyone know where I could have them custom made? I found a website that charges $600 for custom frames, but I feel they should be less expensive.

One of my coworkers had a pair of glasses made by Silhouette. They are rimless and had clear plastic arms and bridge. This is a link to their website. Unfortunately my computer won't let me copy info from the actual website. Sorry. I have a pair with thin purple arms and bridge and they're much less noticeable than my old glasses b/c they're rimless. Mine were about $300. I don't know about vintage frames.

Getting lenses made correctly for your eyeglasses?

Do good opticians measure the area where your eye sits, to note the width of your eyes and also the height of your eyes to the particular frame you selected, to ensure that your lens is custom cut and made to have the RX sit over where your eye is on the frame & lens?

I have had a lot of issues with glasses where I almost have to tilt my head up and the bottom part of the lens is where I see the best. It's almost like they just threw the Rx wherever on the lens, without any regard to how high or low my eye sits with that frame and its lens.

If so, I know the distance horizontally is the Pupillary Distance (PD).
What would be the vertical distance of your eye relative to the frame since your eyes don't always sit in the direct middle height of the lens?

Should all opticians be measuring where your eyes sit both veritcally and horizontally to the lens to make sure you get your Rx right over your eye?

If they don't what do I need to ask for specifically to tell them?

For normal prescriptions that's not a measurement taken routinely - because it doesn't matter.

But, if you have a particularly strong prescription or a big difference between your eyes then it can be significant.

Lenses are normally just centre vertically in the frame - that's the default position if no other measurements are specified.

If you have had problems in the past it would be worth asking them to measure vertical centration too to see if that helps. You don't measure right to the centre of the eye vertically but a few mm below which gives more natural vision.

Custom glasses frames design?

I have an idea for a frame design for eyeglasses, but have no idea how to go about getting them made. Anyone know how this works or where I should start? Any advice appreciated; sources a plus! Thanks :)

Get started with your local eyecare professional-try a small operation. Make a few frames and ask him if they'll sell them. You can make the frames or have a local eye glass company make them They are in your phone book.

Deal with only small time folks as the big boys won't give you the time of day--Walmart and so on.

Little guy may give you a break.

Accessory Fair 2010 – Custom Eyewear « Dress Up Dolls

Creator Gospel Voom has become well known for amazing sculpted objects, making everything from coffee makers to shoes, watches jewellery and furniture. Custom Eyewear is his line of sunglasses, available at his store and at the Accessory Fair . In fact, Gospel will be releasing 2 new styles at the Accessory Fair by this weekend. If they are anything like as nice as the 2 pairs I am showing here, they are not to be missed!

Glasses come with your choice of texture sets. I am wearing the Butterfly in [Model] texture set in the top image, this set comes with a choice of textures that include tortoiseshell, zebra and black. Lenses are also texture change, with a choice of colours, mirror, and opacity.

One thing I have never seen before is that you can purchase a respray. This is basically a texture updater, so that you can add colours to the glasses that you buy. The resprays are designed to work with the style you choose. In the lower image I am wearing the Smooth and you can see me trying out the resprays in red and turquoise. Of course you can change the lenses after rather than having them the same colour as the frame. It’s a really cool system, giving you the option to buy an extra colour without buying a second pair of glasses.
