Are Plano/non-prescriptive eyeglasses and colored contacts generally covered by vision or eye care insurance?

I am interested in purchasing a pair of Plano eyeglasses, and colored contact lenses because I have 20/20 vision and just want to wear them for cosmetic reasons. And I was wondering does vision care cover a portion, all, or none of the cost of Plano eyeglasses and colored contact lenses. I would appreciate any advice for colored contacts- companies, solution, accessories, etc. As well as sites that sell eyeglasses.

Insurance companies usually do not cover anything that is for cosmetics only. Colored lenses are all different. they are not all good for everyone. You need to be fit by a doctor and they would tell you what brand is best for your specific size and shape of eye, your eye color and what is healthiest for how much you want to wear them. I would NEVER recommend buying ANY optical goods online. So, I have o recommendations. call your doctor, get an exam, and see if there is any little Rx at all so that your insurance will pay some!

Where do I get fake eyeglasses?

I have been looking for fake or nonprescription eyeglasses for a while now, I want them just for cosmetic reasons. The only place I can find them is at an eyeglass store, where you pay for the frames and they put clear glass in the lenses, for about $200. There has to be a place online to get glasses that won't cost this much. Any suggestions?

try marc's or something like that where they're only like a dollar

How much does it cost?

The daily disposable once or even the long term (please identify).

I am planning on wearing contacts at school (not cosmetics) due to the fact I got hit twice by a volleyball and passed a ball to a post. Although I prefer to wear eyeglasses at home.

I use the extended wear contacts, and they cost $80 a box for 5 of them. You can get much cheaper ones than that. Go to 1800-contacts or some site like that if you want to know more about prices.

Online eyeglass prescription for someone with perfect sight?

I've got perfect eyesight but I want to buy a pair of glasses for cosmetic purposes (I'm getting a new job at uni as a library assistant). The website asks me to provide prescription particulars for DV, NV, spherical, cylindrical, axis, prism and so on. I just want to know what values I should put in to get a plain pair of glasses.

For a question such as this one, you should definitely ask a professional. Just call any eye-wear store where they do eye exams - Lens Crafters for example. They'll be able to help you better.

Good luck!
