How long does it normally take Cohens Fashion Optical to make a pair of eyeglasses?

I need eyeglasses and I want to know if it will take a long time or a short time. If you've been there please right a review of it.

It depends on the individual store.
If your lenses are in stock and they have an optician on duty, you will have the glasses in an hour or less.
Call the location closest to you to find out if it's possible as most franchise stores do not have someone on hand at all times to cut the lenses.
Worked for one of their stores.

Do you know of any good eyeglass stores in the NY area?

Besides lenscrafters, and Cohen's fashion optical. I live in queens, but am willing to travel a bit, but I would prefer looking in queens and long island, though. I would like designer glasses, and do not know where else to look.

They're all crooks,.Make your lenses stronger every time so they have a customer for life and turn you into an eye glass wearin junky,. But designer frames? if you find a place to cut the lenses to fit it,. find the frames online and take to the crooks to cut and fit the lenses,.

Where to buy cheap and good eye lenses?

I wear eyeglasses to read and to do close work, but since I was having some trouble seeing things far I got an eye exam yesterday. So I found out that I need glasses to see far as well! The doctor said can wear the glasses to see far all day and the other ones I have just for close work. I was a little mad, because It sucks to be carrying two pairs of eyeglasses! I was even more angry when I found out that the glass lenses I want cost $177! I went to Cohen's Fashion optical. I was wondering if there is another place where i can get the same things for a cheaper price. I am also looking for the frames, but i like designer brands, is there any website that sells them for less money as well??? Thanks in advance!

It sounds like what you need is bifocals, then you don't need to keep switching glasses. There are a lot of places where, with a valid prescription, you can order glasses (single vision or bifocal) on line, but if you want hoity toity designer frames, it will be expensive no matter where you get them. The on-line places have the advantage of a huge selection of frames, so, if you are spending the money, you can at least find exactly what you want. Have the patience to look through what they have on the on-line places carefully, you might even find some non-designer frames that look cool enough for you. The on-line places might be a little cheaper than a local shop, but if the glasses break, or need adjustment, it is more difficult to deal with it because the on-line place doesn't have local shops.

I recently got glasses on-line at www.go-optic.com and was very happy with them. You can also try www.framesdirect.com, or any of the other places. The www.zennioptical.com place, that the other answerer mentioned, I believe, has only their own frames (not designer ones) but many of them are quite nice looking and definitely worth checking out. It's true they have glasses as cheap as $8 but the better looking frames are a little more and your bifocal prescription will be more, so you might wind up paying like 40 or 50 bucks for bifocals with their better frames from them.

"The Ethicist" Befuddled by Ritalin and Little League | Lindsay ...

My 9-year-old son, who has attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (A.D.H.D.), was prescribed medication and is doing much better in school and plays much better in his midweek Little League baseball games. He does not take medication on weekends. Would it be ethical to give it to him on a Saturday if he’s pitching in a big game? His doctor sees no health risk. In fact, by keeping the dosage constant, my son might be more comfortable, avoiding the “ramp up” and “ramp down” effect.

Why not give the kid his meds before games? Parsippany, Jr. has a medical condition. He uses stimulant drugs to manage the symptoms on school days. It's not like his ADHD magically goes away when he gets out of school. PJ still has the condition on weekends, it's just that he and his parents have decided that the benefits of the medication only outweigh the side effects on school days. Incidentally, it's pretty common for kids who manage ADHD with stimulants to modify their dosing schedule based on their routines. If PJ's got a weekend activity that requires sustained focus, like baseball, then the cost/benefit analysis shifts. It might make sense for him to take his meds before baseball, too.
