Clear Lens Eyeglasses

How can I tell eyeglasses have (enough) UV protection?Just TRUST the licensed optometrists? Any Certificate can prove the quality of lens?

Can I get a pair of RAYBAN prescription glasses to protect my eyes(CLEAR LENS not sunglasses)?

(How much? other brand producing UV clear lens suggested?)

I dont think a clear lens offers any UV protection.

I have perfect vision but I need a pair of plastic eyeglasses for a scene. They need to look good and they need to be cheap.

hot topic or spencer gifts, but if you want a nice pair go to a eyeglass shop and buy frames and tell them you want clear lenes put in theyll do it.

i want to know if anyone makes polarized glasses without any tint.

OK. Let's talk about the physics of light. Light coming from a point source travels through space in randomly positioned wave fronts with wavelengths of light oscillating in all directions (up and down, back and forth, and all possible oblique angles). Polarized lenses are designed to block only light that is oscillating horizontally or very nearly horizontally. When light bounces off of horizontal surfaces (such as water) much more of the wavelengths begin to travel in a horizontal back and forth manner. Therefore, polarized lenses dramatically decrease glare off of flat surfaces such as water by filtering out these horizontally oscillating waves of light. Any time you block a percentage of light traveling through a lens (it really doesn't matter what direction they are oscillating in) you will see less light through the lens. Therefore, the lens will appear to have a tint. (That's what tints are. They are treatments of a lens to cause absorption or blocking of light). So, since a polarized lens blocks light (mostly horizontal) it unavoidably will result in the lens having a tint. Hope this helped.

My new glasses have transitional lenses in but are not completely clear indoors and always have a very slight tint to them. Is this normal?

Transitional lenses do take some time for them to get clear. But also if it still kinda bright in the room it still might have a tint on them. Thats why they are not that popular.

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a pair of fashionable eyeglasses that had clear lenses (no-Rx). Also, anyone know where they are cheap, aka under $30.

Try zennioptical.com. I have had four pairs of prescription glasses made by them and so far I am very happy. Prices start at $8 per pair. You can't try them on of course being a website but hard to beat the price. And quality is very good. Find a pair of glasses now, even sunglasses, get a mm ruler and measure them. That will help you select the frame size on their site.
