So in the past six months I've seen a lot of people in New York, Chicago and Toronto wearing eyeglasses with completely clear frames. They don't look like what you might be thinking... meaning they are not your traditional style glasses with the arms and such. The closest I can find like it is something like these:

But these aren't even too close. They aren't smoked or anything, they are completely clear plastic and the arms are fat almost like one piece... but again it's not. Sorry I'm having a hard time describing them. I've been into two eyeglass shops and have tried to explain it and they look at me like I just fell off the turnip truck.
Anyway... I would love it if someone could point me to designers with frames that meet this description.

My eyeglasses are clear plastic frames that fully surround the lenses. In between the frames and lenses, dirt/hairs/other small particles are getting trapped and starting to build up (sorry if it sounds gross!). Because I bought my frames off of E-Bay, the optical that did my lenses cannot replace my frames if they get damaged while popping the lenses out. They say that my frames would have to be heated up slightly to pop out the lenses. If the frames crack during the heating, they are not responsible. Is there anything I can do, or do I have to wait until I need new lenses (I'm keeping the frames as long as possible cuz they're designer and I really like them!)?
Use an ultra-sonic jewelery cleaner, sometimes they sell it as a denture cleaner. You put in some cleaning solution and the glasses and it just vibrates all the gunk out. They sell them in all the drug stores and K-Mart, Wal-mart, etc for around $10. It won't get it all out, but it will help.

I'm sure you can go to an optical shop (i.e - Wal Mart, Sears, Hakim Optical, Pearl Visions, etc) and ask them to make plastic lens for your frames.
If not, here are some alternative suggestions:
Option 1) Buy eyeglass models they display at any Optical Store. They are regular frames but with plastic lens.
Option 2) Put clear tape on the eyeglasses where the lens are supposed to be.
Option 3) Go to any party store and look for fake glasses. They must have many of those.
Option 4) Go to a photographer shop and ask if they sell glasses with fake lense. It's an old photographer's trick to use regular glasses with plastic lens in a photo, so there wouldn't be a glare on the real glasse lens, I'm sure they have them.
Good luck,
Hope this helps!

I took my friend to buy some new eyeglasses and while I was there I tried on some frames. I don't need glasses but a few of the frames complimented me, so is it odd to buy frames with just clear lenses?
I dont think its weird that you wear glasses and you dont need them.Funny thing is that some people have to wear them but they hate wearing them
I was chasing some men's black to clear (crystal) coloured eyeglasses. Of a quality seen in the American Optical 1950s brand. I am chasing either deadstock / original frames or contemporary reproductions / similar styles.
Go on ebay, and put in a request for them, someone probably has a pair in a drawer.

New Champion Eyewear Offers Enhanced Impact Protection ...
Champion Target has introduced a new series of shooting eyewear with impact resistance rated four times greater than “industry standard” ANSI Z87.1 specifications. These glasses are offered in both clear and gray-tinted lenses, either full-frame or open frame. The new clear ballistic shooting glasses (item 40615, MSRP: $17.49) have an open frame with a wrap-around design offering enhanced temple protection. The clear lenses are good for iron sights shooting, offering high light transmission even while providing 99% UV protection.

Full Frame Glasses meet MIL-PRF-31013 Standards The full-frame ballistic shooting glasses (item 40613, MSRP: $20.49) feature gray smoked lenses for reduced glare and enhanced image sharpness, and 99% UV protection. With impact protection that meets the tough military standard MIL-PRF-31013, these glasses are available in either red or black frames. NOTE: The new Champions are not the only shooting glasses that pass the MIL-PRF-31013 test. Many of the Wiley X products do so also (see video below).
