I have Tricare, but they only cover eye exams. Where can I get glasses that are afforadble?
Don't buy online. There are a number of reasons, one of the most important of which is that the lenses are not made using the necessary measurements. There is a "sweet spot" to each lens that is made to sit directly in front of your pupil, and without the correct measurements you aren't getting the right functionality and vision correction from your glasses.
You don't have to pay a fortune at a brick-and-mortar shop to get decent quality and professional service. Your glasses won't be $7, but they'll actually do what they're supposed to do.

If you're really that serious about getting corrective eyeglasses for someone who already has 20/20 vision, you could just buy a frame without lenses. But unfortunately, companies don't make "perfect vision" eyeglass stores or give discounts to people with it, so you'll have to go where everyone else with astigmatism goes for eyeglass frames and pay full retail price without assistance from your insurance company.
I have found that WalMart has a good selection of frames (glasses and sunglasses) at affordable prices. I've gotten several pair there. Most WalMart stores have an optical department now, so it shouldn't be hard to find one close to you. Also, they give a very thorough eye exam for a reasonable cost. Hope this helps!

Sorry I am not in the Michigan area, but some places do offer discounts for multiple pairs of glasses or family discounts. You will probably find those at an independent optician rather than a chain optical. Unfortunately, those $99.00 ads/coupons usually will cost you more unless you stick to exactly what they are trying to sell you at that price. Also, some medical insurances offer members discounts on eyewear even though it is not a covered benefit. In Ct, we have Connecticare, which is a regular medical insurance, but members get a 25 or 30% discount on their eyewear. Never hurts to ask. Hope this helps.
